  • What Makes Growth Possible? | EP 1
    Jul 10 2026

🍃 Growth sounds beautiful until you actually have to go through it.

In this episode of Our Garden, Samone and Jenn explore what growth really asks of us: not the polished, inspirational version, but the uncomfortable, messy, sometimes scary process of stepping into unfamiliar rooms, learning your own limits, and deciding who you want to become. Through stories about power, consent, confidence, boundaries, feedback, storytelling, and crisis response, they explore the difference between wanting to grow and wanting to already be on the other side of growth, why you cannot do someone else’s growth for them, and how hope can live alongside pain when things feel unbearable.

A Gentle Note: This episode contains honest conversations about suicide, mental health, the sex industry, BDSM, gun violence, and other potentially sensitive topics. Please care for yourself and engage at your own pace.

  • When Do You Become Yourself? | EP 2
    Jul 24 2026

What does it really mean to become yourself?

In this episode of Our Garden, Samone sits down with her longtime friend Fawn Winters for a conversation about identity, independence, and the beautifully winding path of becoming. Fawn reflects on leaving home at eighteen, describing the experience as "free-falling into a whirlpool"—equal parts exhilarating and terrifying—and how that leap became the beginning of discovering who she truly was.

Together, they explore chosen names, growing up biracial and bisexual, family expectations, and the quiet courage it takes to define yourself beyond the stories others have written for you. Along the way, they share memories of first apartments, complicated family dynamics, unconventional relationships, heartbreak, and the lessons that emerge as we learn where our boundaries begin and our truest selves are allowed to bloom.

By the end of the conversation, both women look back on their younger selves with tenderness, reflecting on the reminders they wish they'd carried sooner: choose yourself, make room for your emotions, and trust that becoming isn't a destination to arrive at, but a lifelong practice of returning home to yourself.

A Gentle Note: This episode includes conversations about family conflict, sexuality, infidelity, and substance use.

  • What Do We Actually Owe Each Other? | EP 3
    Sep 4 2026

How do we offer one another grace while honoring our own boundaries?

In this episode of Our Garden, Samone sits down with Sam for an honest conversation about boundaries, neurodivergence, emotional availability, and the desire to feel understood.

Sam reflects on what years of fundraising taught him about listening without trying to convince, and shares the three principles that guide him through difficult interactions: “It’s not about you,” “no one owes you anything,” and “I don’t owe them anything.” Together, these ideas offer a framework for setting ego aside, respecting other people’s time and autonomy, and recognizing when protecting your own energy means stepping away.

Samone and Sam also compare their very different relationships with empathy. Sam often understands emotions intellectually before he feels them, while Samone can absorb another person’s emotions until she becomes overwhelmed and retreats. Together, they discuss emotional performance, the relationship between words and actions, and what it means to do the work required to maintain a connection.

The conversation expands into ADHD, autism, Black mental health, Caribbean family dynamics, religious stigma, generational trauma, and the importance of having language for the way your mind works. They reflect on mutual respect between parents and children, learning to recognize emotional dysregulation, and allowing themselves to experience feelings they were once taught to suppress.

If you have ever felt misunderstood, struggled to communicate your boundaries, or wondered how to care for someone without abandoning yourself, this conversation is for you.
