Episode 71 is the Okay Diva podcast live at Cult — Brisbane’s most underground, most unhinged, most you-genuinely-cannot-describe-it queer event, this year themed around Mulholland Drive. Sam and Brock dressed as 80s news anchors, set up a field studio in the belly of the beast, and interviewed everyone they could find while chaos unfolded around them.

This episode is different gurl. No couch, no studio, no structure, just two divas with a microphone, a porn room next door, fire being swallowed somewhere in the distance, and a rotating cast of the most fabulous people in Brisbane telling us what diva means to them. With an extra special interview with Glass Eater herself: the creator, the visionary, the diva who built this whole thing from a 30-patron cabaret to one of Brisbane’s most beloved events.

Today we’re dressed in star spangled cowgirl and cowboy fits to honour the world’s most shining, trailblazing, bold southern belle diva; the phenomenal Dolly Parton.

Episode 66 features our first ever theatre director and intimacy coordinator Heidi Gledhill. Heidi gets what it means to take up space as a creative, as a celeb in your own right, and as someone who doesn’t shy away from their voice and sass. Heidi brings every bit of that to the diva sphere and then some.

We pay tribute to the legendary Dolly Parton, the divinegoddess, godmother of us all, the girl who grew up with nothing in Tennessee and gave 300 million books back to the world through the Imagination Library. Who had a song locked in a box for her 100th birthday. Who was so secure in herself she could wear whatever the hell she wanted and mean every inch of it. We speak on all she meant, all she built, and all she leaves behind.

We also get deep into intimacy coordinating and directing andwhat it actually is, why it only came about after the Harvey Weinstein movement, why it's newer than gay marriage, and why the industry could not have needed it more. This conversation is important and Heidi makes it fascinating.

Trashy movies, B-grade cinema, creature features, and the eternal question: is Sharknado art? Episode 65 is Sam and Brock get into the most beloved, deranged, low-budget films ever made.

It starts with Forbidden Fruits (With Lily Reinhardt, whoserole on "Riverdale really was her Juilliard"), spirals into whethercreature features are the pinnacle of trash cinema, takes a detour through The Killer Condom, Rubber The Killer Tyre, Velocipasta, Leprechaun, Cocaine Bear and a knock-off Disney list that makes no sense, and ends with a passionaten defence of the Real Housewives of Melbourne as legitimate Australian cinema. Brock watched all five Sharknados in one weekend. We also debate whether Batman and Robin, Pirates of the Caribbean and Donnie Darko count as trash.
