What if the future isn't already written? What if the path we're walking is actually being created, in part, by the steps we take?
In this episode of The Remembrance Codes, I'm sharing a little of what I've been exploring through my studies of Alfred North Whitehead and process philosophy. Don't worry, we're keeping the philosophy approachable! Through puzzles, acorns, and everyday experiences, we'll explore a world that is always changing, always becoming, and deeply shaped by relationship.
We'll talk about patterns, probabilities, and participation, how the past influences the possibilities available to us, and why recognizing where we've been doesn't mean we're destined to keep going in the same direction.
I'm also sharing a more personal chapter: an unexpected encounter with grief while attending my son's college orientation, the discovery of an entire year I'd somehow misplaced in my own memories, and my decision to return to college at 48.
From ecological responsibility to the stories we tell about ourselves, this conversation is an invitation to remember that nothing is entirely fixed. Not our world, not our circumstances, and certainly not who we're becoming.
The story isn't finished. And we get to participate in what comes next.
