    *Update,
I thought the audio was okay, my apologies!

    (Recorded via mobile)

Rambles are a feature of the podcast where I share my thoughts, mainly when a news event hasn't popped out for me to discuss (this is not to say they are not important), and I get to have fun talking about more relaxed topics.

The Commitment To Hate And To Violence

In today's episode I cover 3 stories, all with one consistent thread, that LGBT+ members of society are being abused, stabbed, and threatened.Looking at O'Shae Sibley, a Black, gay professional dancer of 28 years, being stabbed whilst dancing at a gas station whilst filling his car up.On the same date, in Northern Ireland, at a Pride March, a Preacher was using equipment to amplify shouting disgusting terms to the Pride participants. And this month, in London, there has been a double stabbing, where two men were standing outside of the Two Brewers LGBTQIA+ bar..To keep within my 15 minute episode slot, I have mentioned that there are statistics showing higher hate crimes to LGBT+ members of UK society, but was unable to share them in the episode, but the links will be added to view.I am also adding a link to an app called Zoteria that is on both IOS and Android that was released in 2022, to which LGBT+ hate crimes can be reported.Links/ Sources:* O'Shae Sibleyhttps://www.npr.org/2023/08/11/1192987300/oshae-sibley-stabbed-voguing-beyonce* O'Shae Sibley Fo-Fund Mehttps://www.gofundme.com/f/oshae-sibley?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=unknown&utm_campaign=comms_gfm+oshae-sibley* Belfast Pride March, Northern Irelandhttps://ca.style.yahoo.com/police-confirm-treating-belfast-pride-134305660.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAGDTZh3xn00c4O-PHd0gxwm1CG6Zs9KpN85KnyE2dxqEoc-KKhLaG0Ea8NvjqUr1pu62hXKVVUuW3RTiOosIvtDp0K51U3iVdeK_ZFPjeLdIv6GZZT3UiWPsZBP7aPCMWYsV4Fzj3XAJ4mQ0gSI_fvxGwC2a74qNVv3URH5m2uuA* Homophobic Attack, London 1/3https://www.attitude.co.uk/news/clapham-two-men-stabbed-homophobic-attack-443586/* 2/3https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/two-brewers-clapham-gay-bar-stabbing-attack-police-b1100524.html* 3/3https://ustimespost.com/victim-of-clapham-nightclub-stabbing-breaks-his-silence-hours-after-homophobic-attack-saw-two-rushed-to-hospital/#* Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan Voting Recordhttps://www.theyworkforyou.com/london-assembly-member/11878/sadiq_khan/votes#reform* Zoteria app (Report LGBT+ Hate Crime)https://www.stonewall.org.uk/zoteriaUK Statistics* https://www.thepinknews.com/2023/05/11/uk-lgbtq-rights-ilga-europe-rankings-rainbow-map-tories/* https://www.ilga-europe.org/report/rainbow-europe-2023/* https://www.rainbow-europe.org/* https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/hate-crime-england-and-wales-2021-to-2022/hate-crime-england-and-wales-2021-to-2022* https://www.ilga-europe.org/sites/default/files/2023/full_annual_review.pdfhttps://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/41-of-surveyed-lgbtq-youth-considered-suicide-in-the-past-year--US Statistics* https://williamsinstitute.law.ucla.edu/press/lgbt-hate-crimes-press-release/
