A proposito di questo titolo
Why does a world with so much "progress" feel so stagnant?

The system is broken, and waiting for a savior hasn’t worked. At New Earth Alchemy, we believe the most radical act you can perform is becoming your own hero. We explore the intersection of science, metaphysics, and self-sustainability to help you exit the "survival mode" of a failing culture and enter a state of intentional sovereignty.

We bridge the gap between the physical and the non-physical, moving beyond "awareness" and into actionable healing—from nervous system regulation and somatics to quantum engineering and community resilience.

Hosted by a neurodivergent millennial nerd-geek who reads the dense non-fiction so you don’t have to, we translate MIT-level logic and ancient healing into a roadmap for the modern world. From deep-dives into the reactive mind to the modern mythology of anime, we’re mapping the "New Earth" by healing the individual first.

Stop yelling at the system. Start building the life it can’t give you.

  • The Architecture of Connection: Third Places, Emotional Intelligence, and Nervous System Co-Regulation
    Oct 26 2026
Episode Overview:In this special collaborative episode of New Earth Alchemy, Savannah is joined by her 11-year-old son, Rowen, for a rich, multi-generational discussion on human connection, spatial design, and emotional intelligence.Together, they explore the concept of "Third Places"—the vital environments outside home and work where community naturally unfolds—and why their decline in American infrastructure is fueling a modern loneliness epidemic equivalent to smoking 15 cigarettes a day.🌱 THIS WEEK'S MINI CHALLENGE: "The Non-Transactional Connection"The Concept: Combat the modern "pay-to-play" isolation trap by stepping into a free, non-transactional third place and engaging in unhurried face-to-face interaction. How to do it for the next 7 days:Find a Free Space: Visit a public park, a neighborhood playground, a local community green space, or sit on your front porch/lawn without pulling out your phone.Put Screens Away: Keep devices tucked away to remove the temptation of digital distraction.Initiate Real Presence: Smile, make eye contact, or strike up a brief, low-stakes, zero-purchase conversation with a neighbor, fellow parent, or community member. Experience the nervous system reset of physical co-regulation.What was discussed:Savannah explained the concept of third places:First place is home; second place is work or school; third place is for hanging out, conversation, community, and connection. Third places are important for mental, emotional, and physical health because these are interconnected. Historically, villages were designed around walkability, making it easier to see people daily and maintain community. In the US, many places are designed for driveability rather than walkability, contributing to an epidemic of loneliness where one in two adults report feeling lonely. Loneliness is compared to the health impact of smoking 15 cigarettes a day. Humans are communal "pack animals" and rely on nervous system co-regulation, meaning being around angry or anxious people can make others feel the same. Third places allow people to be a different version of themselves than they are at home or work, where they can let loose and explore their interests. Many US spaces are "pay to play" or transactional; a true third place should be community-oriented with zero purchase pressure. Examples of third places include playgrounds, pickleball courts, and neighborhood spaces. Savannah tries to make her home a third place for neighborhood kids. Scouts can be a third place, though it has some pay-to-play elements; however, financial aid programs exist to reduce barriers. The US lacks a strong, shared cultural/social structure, which can leave people feeling lost; Scouts provides this through the Scout Oath and Law. Rowen contributed:Agreed that loneliness is a significant issue and shared that he felt lonely for a while. Noted that many people use screens for socializing and consider it "good enough," but argued that physical presence is necessary. Mentioned his school's project-based learning (PBL), where they discuss teamwork and how one person's lack of effort can affect the group's score. Recited the Scout Oath and Law. Described how leadership in Scouts often emerges naturally during projects, sometimes leading to conflict when multiple people try to lead. Observed that group members often decide which leader to follow based on who they like more, rather than who is most beneficial to the task. Presented a slideshow on artisanism:Defined artisan goods as handcrafted items like woodwork, cooking/baking, sculpting, and farm products. Benefits include quality, craftsmanship, uniqueness, support for local economies, sustainability, and cultural preservation. Artisan work can benefit mental health by providing a break from screens. Suggested that artisan activities done with friends can become a third place. Shared a "spooks and gooks" contest idea for Halloween, where neighbors would decorate their houses and the best-decorated house would win a prize. Savannah also discussed emotional intelligence:It includes perspective taking (seeing how others see things), active listening, self-awareness, relationship management, and clear, open communication. Many people think they are communicating clearly when they are not. Multitasking is described as an illusion; it is actually switching full attention back and forth and is not productive or good for the nervous system. Social and cultural awareness involves recognizing that different cultures have different norms for respect, such as eye contact or handshakes. Empathy first means offering perspective, kindness, and compassion before feedback or redirection. Takeaway / Understanding:The discussion highlighted how the decline of walkable, non-transactional third places contributes to loneliness and poor mental health. Both participants agreed that community-building activities, whether through Scouts, artisanism, or neighborhood ...

  • Awareness Isn’t Enough: Why Talking About Change Keeps You Stuck
    Oct 19 2026
Donna Kreislerwww.donnakreisler.com🌱 THIS WEEK'S MINI CHALLENGE: "The 'Crowding Out' Audit"The Concept: Rather than trying to brutally cut out a bad habit or distraction cold-turkey, focus on crowding it out by intentionally adding one micro-action that aligns with your values. How to do it for the next 7 days:Identify the Distraction: Pick one mindless habit you default to when escaping discomfort (e.g., scrolling social media, turning on background TV, online shopping).Select the Addition: Choose one tiny, positive, 5-minute behavior (e.g., practicing 5 Spanish vocabulary cards, doing 5 minutes of conscious breathing, drinking a full glass of water, writing down 3 wins from today).Crowd It Out: Before you engage in the distraction, complete your tiny positive action first. Let the cumulative momentum of small wins build naturally over the week.Language Learning and Cultural AdaptationDonna shared her experience of moving between the US and Israel, learning Hebrew fluently despite initial language and cultural barriers. She emphasized that being forced into new environments can reveal hidden strengths, such as her aptitude for languages. Savannah related by discussing her own journey with Spanish, highlighting the importance of playing to one's strengths and the impact of trauma and stress on learning. Both agreed that immersion and necessity drive language acquisition, and that self-awareness of strengths and weaknesses helps guide personal development.Awareness, Mindset, and Personal GrowthA major theme was the role of awareness in personal transformation. Donna described how lack of awareness can be peaceful but unproductive, while becoming aware of dissatisfaction is the first step toward change. However, awareness alone is insufficient—action is required. She recounted her own years-long struggle to move from awareness to effective action, emphasizing the need for consistent, massive, and correct actions to break cycles of frustration. Both speakers discussed how beliefs, often conditioned from childhood or society, can limit potential, and how challenging these beliefs is essential for growth. Donna shared her experience at a Tony Robbins seminar, using the metaphor of walking on hot coals to illustrate overcoming self-imposed limitations. The importance of continuous self-improvement, accountability, and embracing discomfort to avoid stagnation was stressed. The Role of Environment and Exposure in Shaping BeliefsThe speakers discussed how limited exposure to different cultures, ideas, and experiences can foster closed-mindedness. Savannah noted that people who never leave their hometowns often have more rigid worldviews. Donna expanded on this, explaining that truth is subjective and shaped by personal experience. Both agreed that awareness of alternatives is necessary for change, and that exposure can come from travel, books, podcasts, or media. They also discussed how societal and familial conditioning shapes beliefs about what is possible, and how breaking out of these patterns requires conscious effort and sometimes discomfort.Action vs. Theory: The Importance of DoingDonna and Savannah emphasized that reading, talking, or theorizing about change is not enough—real transformation requires action. Donna used the analogy of muscle training to explain that consistent, repetitive actions are needed to reprogram habits and thought patterns developed over decades. Both noted that people often get stuck in cycles of planning or talking about change without following through, leading to frustration. They discussed the dopamine hit from talking about change versus the lasting impact of actual change, and the importance of realistic, flexible goal-setting to avoid self-criticism and burnout.Self-Compassion, Realistic Expectations, and Celebrating Small WinsBoth speakers highlighted the importance of self-compassion and setting realistic expectations, especially for women who tend to be highly self-critical. They discussed the pitfalls of all-or-nothing thinking and the need to recognize and celebrate small achievements rather than focusing solely on unmet goals. Savannah shared her strategy of reviewing daily accomplishments, even if they differ from the original to-do list, to maintain perspective and motivation. Donna advised gradual habit changes and prioritizing self-care, noting that incremental progress is more sustainable and empowering than drastic changes.Conditioning, Family Patterns, and RelearningDonna discussed how family conditioning, such as growing up in a household with financial instability, can shape lifelong habits and beliefs. She described her journey of recognizing these patterns, forgiving her parents, and consciously choosing to relearn and adopt new behaviors. Both speakers noted that many people unconsciously adopt the values and priorities of their upbringing or culture, which may not align with their true desires. The process of change involves awareness, ...
