We will update this tomorrow when we do the video version, but for those who are ready for it, we wanted to get the new episode out asap.

Welcome to Narnia Fans Cast Episode #53, for September 23, 2026! This week, Evening Star asks a timely question as more details emerge about Netflix’s upcoming The Magician’s Nephew: When is an adaptation no longer an adaptation? With Greta Gerwig directing, Daniel Craig as Uncle Andrew, Meryl Streep voicing Aslan, and the story’s setting shifted forward roughly 50 years, Evening Star explores three different approaches to adapting a book for the screen, from closely reproducing the original story to capturing its spirit in a new medium or substantially reimagining it for another time and culture. Then The Bard’s Tale continues with Chapters 3–5 of Swept Away, an original Narnian adventure by John Burkitt. Trundle and Sir Joseph set sail aboard the Queen of the Sea on their mission to rescue Joseph’s wife, Fiona. Along the way, Trundle experiences the delights and digestive consequences of his first ocean voyage, while the pair encounter Orlando, an enslaved Narnian boy who is given the chance to become Sir Joseph’s squire and find his way home. But a terrifying nightmare gives Trundle his first taste of just how dangerous the journey ahead may become. Hosted by Evening Star. Swept Away by John Burkitt. Produced by NarniaFans.com. Music by Patrick Swanson and Paul Martin. Further up and further in!
