NIMBY's are apart of the Not In My BackYard movement, they basically don't care with you build just not near them. However there is little known movement known as the YIMBY's and it stands for Yes In MY Backyard. Stanley Roberts talks with one of the first people involved with that movement Jon Schwark
Jon Schwark moved to the Bay Area from Kansas City in 1998, during the DotCom boom, and was shocked by the housing prices. The run up in prices during the second (third?) tech boom led him to become an early volunteer in the YIMBY pro-housing movement in 2015. Jon works as a video editor and motion graphic designer. He’s also spent time as a performance and installation artist, underground event producer, and father. His current passion is growing succulent plants on his window ledge at home in downtown San Francisco.
