A proposito di questo titolo
To mark Disability History Month 2024, host Gina Patel within her network chair role presented NHS England's Disability and Wellbeing Network (DaWN) 'in the style of TEDx' event featuring three members of the network sharing their story.
Emily Steventon, Katie Frankland and Marie Ahern.
Emily's ‘Invisible No More: Creating Community through Understanding’ explores how her lived experience with a hidden disability feels often isolated but through learning about the power of vulnerability and sharing her story has led to her building understanding and empathy within the disability community.
Katie's ‘Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole’ shares how her assistance dog created a community for her and her achievements to date.
Marie's ‘Leaning in - hurt and healing in community’ explores how she embarked on a personal journey with her dyslexia whilst managing Rejection Sensitive Dysmorphia (RSD) and whilst she values community, she will share the difficulties and challenges she faces in participation and her approaches she takes to overcome the barrier.
