After the loss of their young son, Sadie and her husband are both trying to survive their grief in very different ways.
For Sadie, that means simply getting through each day. For her husband, it means keeping every kitchen cupboard door open.
At first, Sadie thinks it is just a strange habit tied to memory and loss.
Then he begins spending more and more time in the kitchen, staring into the cupboards and talking as though someone is listening.
When his behavior becomes impossible to ignore, Sadie starts to wonder whether grief is the only thing haunting their home.
And when her husband suddenly disappears, she is left alone with the one place he could never seem to stay away from.
