Welcome to The Murder Closet. Each season is a new book. First season book:
THE CROWS DAUGHTER

In our first season we will introduce ourselves and how we are incorporating a podcast with writing a book. We will fill you in on the two recent murders at a secret government compound known as Project Omega and give you some background on the characters involved and their link to a child disappearance 10 years ago.

In this episode we clarify the characters in the murder mystery and imagine the cast for a potential screenplay. We include a gut wrenching scene from 'The Hallowed Hunt which depicts the search for Callie. We delve into the personalities and relationships of the Berkley family.

A shoutout to Lois McMaster Bujold who wrote the book this episode is named after. One of, if not the best science fiction/fantasy writer ever.

In this episode Lucas and Marian discuss how to use ChatGPT as your AI murder accomplice. Using the Birdie Files they break the story that Project Omega is actually an NSA run project (which comes not only as a surprise to the US public but to the US military as well). In this “Secret Squirrels” episode they reveal the identities and backgrounds of the NSA agents who ARE in charge of Project Omega. They include a reading that brings Benedict and his father Jackson to life, and reveals the reason the Head Secret Squirrel (NSA Agent) decides to investigate the disappearance of Cali Brooks.

Murder Logisticians (Murderologists!) Toni and Keith, former residents of Berkeley, go on-site to investigate the disappearance of Cali Brooks; and report back their findings in this episode. They explore and document access points to the Botanical Gardens, weaknesses in the garden's fence, and the locations of cameras and security. They locate potential points in the area where a body could be stashed; and discuss the possibility of getting into and out of the garden unseen. They describe walker and runner traffic along the Fire Trail, parking access to the trail, and the difficulty of traversing the trail unobserved (especially if carrying a body). Along the way, we explore the nefarious infiltration of the Berkeley environs by rooftop deer (nothing to do with Santa) and urban feral turkeys (UFT's). We close by revealing our varied cult memberships and argue the relative merits of red and black licorice (on the murderous potential of black licorice we can all agree).
