Momentum Moments is a short-form, bi-weekly audio series for people who are still in the middle of it. Not looking back from the other side. Not teaching from a place of arrival. Each episode moves through the real work of following Jesus — the internal war, the slow formation, the moments where faith has to carry weight without feedback — grounded in Scripture and lived from inside the process. Hosted by Brandon Richards. New episodes weekly. More at runintoyourself.comBrandon Richards Catechesi ed evangelismo Cristianesimo Spiritualità
  • As Was His Custom: How to Keep Growing in Your Faith When Life Gets Comfortable (Part 1)
    Oct 20 2026

Once God brings you through a hard season, it’s easy to stop growing without ever deciding to. The pressure lifts, life gets comfortable, and your faith slowly goes dull. This episode of Momentum Moments begins a new series on spiritual growth and perseverance in the Christian life: why believers drift after a breakthrough, why so many were handed a list of religious duties but never discipled, and how grace and spiritual discipline work together. It also looks at what spiritual formation actually is, why the first weeks of any new habit are the hardest, and how a believer can stay spiritually awake once life is good. If your prayer life or Bible reading has stalled, or you want to grow closer to God without falling into legalism, this teaching is for you.

  • The Bitch Spot
    Oct 5 2026

You prayed hard when life was falling apart. Now the bills are paid, things are stable, and your faith feels settled, but you pray less, read your Bible less, and tell yourself you've earned a break. Comfort has started taking the place of commitment, and most believers never notice it happening.

This episode of Momentum Moments addresses spiritual complacency in the Christian life: why faith often stalls after a season of growth, how spiritual stagnation and lukewarm faith set in a little at a time, and what the Bible says about staying faithful once things are going well. For anyone asking how to grow closer to God, how to stay disciplined in prayer and Bible reading, or how to keep going in their calling after a breakthrough, this is a straight biblical conversation about perseverance, spiritual discipline, and finishing the race.

How the Sin Split Us From God and From Each Other

We treat loving God and loving the people in front of us like two separate assignments. In Matthew 22, when a lawyer asks Jesus which commandment is the greatest, He answers with two that are almost the same commandment, one aimed at God and one aimed at whoever is sitting across the table from you.

This episode follows that single thread all the way back to the garden, where both relationships broke in the same act, and all the way to the cross, where both were repaired at once. Along the way: why the older brother in the prodigal son and Martha in the kitchen are running the exact same scorecard, how keeping score with people is the same thing we quietly do with God, the connection between Adam's opened side and the spear that pierced Christ's, and the charcoal fire where Jesus restored Peter using the same word John used for the fire Peter denied Him at.

It ends with two honest questions. If God gave you nothing else today, would you still want Him. And if you had nothing left to give the people in your life, would they still want you.

A teaching on being fully known with nothing to hide, and what it costs to be restored to it, with God first and then with everyone else.
