  • Upset, Holiday Eating and the Case Against a Sugary Breakfast
    Apr 23 2026

In Episode 11, Jo shares an honest account of how unresolved upset affected her eating pattern this week, and what it taught her about the way our emotions speak through our bodies when we don't give them a voice. She moves on to joyful territory, exploring how Time Related Eating gives you the freedom to fully enjoy celebrations without losing your way. Jo also tackles the importance of breakfast and why starting the day with sugar can work against you, explaining how a sugary breakfast is more likely to lead to weight gain. Throughout it all, Jo is on holiday and reflecting on something many of us find surprisingly hard: the need to truly relax. She shares how the flexibility built into Foodsane supports her intention to wind down.

In our most recent series, we are focussing on Jo’s work with Foodsane following the publication of her book Foodsane (available now on Amazon) and the introduction of the Foodsane community (www.foodsane.co.uk). In these weekly podcasts she tells us about the experience of Time Related Eating in real time plus draws on research and brings in experts from various fields to help us find peace in a noisy food world and support our mental health.

  • Lucy Marvellous on Fermenting, Gut Health and a Life of Time Related Eating
    Apr 18 2026

In Episode 10, Jo is joined by Lucy Marvellous, author of "I'll Have What Lucy Is Having" and "Easy Fermenting for Beginners," for a fascinating conversation about gut health, fermented food and what happens when your body truly recalibrates through Time Related Eating. Lucy has been a time-related eater for even longer than Jo and shares how her body now tells her clearly when she has had enough, a point some people reach only through GLP-1 injections but which Lucy found naturally. They explore the growing science behind the gut microbiome and how it may be calling the shots on what we eat and how we feel. Lucy explains how simple it is to start making your own fermented food at home, and shares honest advice on managing hunger in the early days of changing your eating pattern, including her brilliant reminder that real hunger builds but waves of hunger simply go away. Visit Lucy at fresherbites.co.uk to find out about fermenting workshops in your own home.

  • Brain Hunger, Body Patterns and the Tiny Boosts That Change Everything
    Apr 8 2026

In Episode 9, Jo shares three key things she learned this week from her Foodsane diary. She explores how the body learns and holds onto eating patterns built up over years, and why those familiar cravings at certain times of day may not be real hunger at all. She digs into the crucial difference between brain hunger, triggered by thoughts, memories and food noise, and genuine stomach hunger, and why learning to tell them apart is a game changer for Time Related Eating. And she closes with a reminder that tiny non-food boosts, from music and movement to a moment of stillness, send powerful signals to the nervous system that quietly loosen the grip of comfort eating.

In our most recent series, we are focussing on Jo’s work with Foodsane following the publication of her book Foodsane (available now on Amazon) and the introduction of the Foodsane community (www.foodsane.co.uk).
