After retiring as a Sky and BBC news journalist and reporter, Mike never thought he would be using his time now to fight for suicide awareness and prevention. In February, 2021, Mike's son, Ross, took his own life after battling with depression for over 10 years. Mike is the co-founder of The Baton of Hope that aims to increase and improve suicide prevention for the entire of the UK through education and political action.
