• 67: Why Decluttering Feels So Hard in Midlife (and Where to Start) with Michelle Hoff
    Oct 14 2026
You open the closet. It's packed. And you have nothing to wear. You've tried the rules, the bins, the dump-it-all-on-the-bed method, and you end up shoving it all back and shutting the door. My guest this week is Michelle Hoff, a certified life coach, founder of Compassionate Decluttering, and author of the Amazon bestseller Compassionate Decluttering: How to Soulfully Surrender Your Stuff. Before coaching, she spent ten years helping people love their homes at Room & Board. Her work starts where most decluttering advice skips: the emotional part. We talk about why decluttering feels so hard in midlife, especially for women who have spent decades taking care of everyone else. I share what I saw helping my aunt move out of the home she lived in for 30 years, and why I'm not waiting for a move to start on my own space. In this episode you'll learn: Why overwhelm in decluttering can turn into full paralysis, even for a professional The question Michelle asks before anyone touches a single thing: when this is all managed and you open your front door, what do you see? Her ALIGN Method, step by step: Acknowledge, Let go with love, Imagine, Grounding and support, Nurture The sock drawer rule: cut it into quarters and do one Percentage purging: why 10% is enough to get moving Why she believes decluttering can't be done alone, and what a client, coach, and organizer can do together How your taste changes as you change, and why it's fine to let your home change with you It's your turn now. You've done enough. • 66: The Turn: How to Change Direction in Midlife Without Losing Your Balance
    Oct 7 2026

During Covid, in a tango class on Zoom, I was asked for one backward turn. I did two. The cat was under my foot, and I broke my arm. Six weeks in a sling. And that is when my turns started getting better.

This episode is for the woman in the middle of a turn right now. A job, a role, a body that's changing, a season. When life changes direction, the instinct is to reach, grab, and muscle your way around. It works well enough, until it doesn't. There's another way to turn, and your own body will tell you which one you're using.

    In this episode you'll learn:

    • Why turning from your shoulders and arms works "well enough" right up until it throws you off balance

    • What six weeks in a sling taught me about listening to my body while it healed

    • The three systems your balance runs on (eyes, inner ear, and proprioception) and why a turn tests all three at once

    • Why tango keeps showing up in the balance research

    • A client who kept giving a demanding job "the double," and how her body told her it was time to turn

    • A short body check for the next time something in your life starts to turn, and the one question to ask before you decide

Turn from your center, not your reach.

This is Episode 3 of The Turning, a six-part series on seasonal and personal change in midlife.

  • 65: What Falls Away Doesn't Fail You: Letting Go in Midlife
    Sep 30 2026
This month, four things ended in my life at the same time. I turned 70. I worked my last full-time day as a clinical pharmacist after 40 years. My aunt moved into assisted living. And the season turned. Not one of them was a failure. But part of me was keeping score like each one was. This episode is for the woman whose role, routine, or identity shifted this year, and who quietly filed it under loss. Falling away and falling apart can feel identical from the inside. They are not the same event, and knowing the difference changes how you move through the next season of your life. In this episode you'll learn: Why "trading one number for another" is still letting a number tell you how to feel What pharmacy teaches about endings: why a medication gets discontinued because it worked, not because it failed "Start low, go slow": why you don't have to fill new space in your life all at once Mono no aware, the Japanese idea of holding the ache and the appreciation of an ending in the same breath A client story about the two words that took a lifelong dream off the table, and what put it back The tango custom of saying "gracias" to end a dance, and a three-question practice for one thing that fell away from your life this year What falls away was never the failure. Holding onto it past its season would have been. This is Episode 2 of The Turning, a six-part series on seasonal and personal change in midlife. • 64: Why Midlife Feels Like a Season Change
    Sep 23 2026
Mornings got harder. Afternoons got heavier. Bedtime started feeling like a lifetime away, even on nights with nowhere to be. Nothing about my schedule had changed, so I went looking for the reason, the way 40 years in clinical pharmacy trained me to. There wasn't one. There was a season, and it turns out seasons have a hormone schedule of their own. This episode is for anyone who's been told, by a doctor, a friend, or their own inner voice, that this is just what getting older feels like. It isn't. It's a light-driven shift in cortisol and melatonin timing that runs on the actual calendar every September, and at our age it lands harder because of one specific reason your twenty-five-year-old self never had to deal with. In this episode you'll learn: Why the same seasonal shift that barely touched you at 25 can knock you flat now, and what estrogen actually has to do with it The two-move fix that starts working before you finish this episode: where to put your attention in the morning, and what to protect in the evening Why "vague tiredness" isn't a real diagnosis, and how to tell the difference between a signal and decline The Japanese idea (mono no aware) that reframes a season change as a turn, not a failure Why movement is a second, independent way to reset your body's internal clock, separate from light There's a coincidence at the center of this one. September 22nd was my last full day of clinical pharmacy work after 40 years. It also happens to be the actual autumn equinox this year. One turning I chose. One turning nobody chooses. I didn't plan for those two to land in the same week, and it's the reason I finally sat down and worked out what was actually happening in my body while it was happening in the sky. About Diana Devi: Diana is a clinical pharmacist of 40 years and an Argentine tango teacher who founded An Ageless Life, an embodied longevity coaching practice for accomplished women in midlife. She hosts the Midlife Reset podcast, translating four decades of clinical pharmacology into daily practice for women who are done accepting "that's just aging" as an answer. Mentioned in this episode: A 10,000 lux light therapy lamp, used 15-20 minutes in the morning Episode 63, "Do You Have to Get Weaker as You Get Older?" • 63: Do You Have to Get Weaker as You Get Older?
    Sep 16 2026
I tell people my real age to their face, on purpose. Almost every time, the first thing they say is, "No, you're not." That reaction is not about me. It's about what a number does to you the moment nobody is standing in front of you to check it against. This episode is for the woman who has quietly started treating "getting older" and "getting smaller" as the same fact. They're not. Most women hand themselves a smaller life one quiet decision at a time, without ever noticing they signed anything. Recorded two days after Diana's own 70th birthday, this is the clearest single argument she has for what An Ageless Life is actually about. In this episode, you'll learn: Why your nervous system isn't breaking down as you age, it's renegotiating a contract it made with you decades ago The three old agreements most women are still running on autopilot, and the three questions that renegotiate them Why vigilance you no longer need (the 9pm phone flinch, the room that used to be dangerous) isn't decline, it's an outdated setting How one client, "Renee," changed what her body was running on in six months, with no visible aging at her ten-year reunion Two simple, doable ways to start using the capacity you free up, starting today There's a real client story in the middle of this one: a woman who came in exhausted and afraid of repeating her own parent's decline, and what actually shifted for her in six months. Not a transformation montage. A woman who started asking herself one honest question before saying yes to things. Mentioned in this episode: Ma (the Japanese concept of the pause) — Episode 38 Kaizen (small, compounding change) — Episode 40 Episode 44, "Why Aging Doesn't Make You Smaller and Weaker, But This Does" If this episode helped you see the difference between getting older and getting smaller, the kindest thing you can do is share it with one woman who needs to hear it, or leave a review. • 62: Where You Actually Stand
    Sep 9 2026

Two people caught it before Diana did. A massage therapist, mid-treatment for a frozen shoulder, had her look in a mirror: one shoulder was sitting an inch higher than the other. Weeks later, a ballet teacher who had never met the massage therapist stopped her mid-exercise and did the exact same thing. That's when it landed. The check was free. She just hadn't been looking.

In the finale of Still Moving, there is no new pillar. Diana puts all five back on the table at once, strength, balance, the way you carry yourself, your brain, and your stamina, and shows how they were never separate: the finger drill is a balance drill, the two o'clock crash is the same hormone as the missing word, and balance trained on a Tuesday morning is stamina banked for a Tuesday afternoon.

Then she hands you the Five-Minute Stand: five questions, once a week, in front of your own mirror. It won't fix anything. It tells you which pillar is running the show right now, so you know which of the five tools you already have to reach for first.

If this is your first episode, start with Episode 57 and work forward. Everything here builds on those five.

Your Ageless Map, a 90-minute session that takes your five answers and draws the route, is not open yet. To be first on the list, email diana@anagelesslife.com with MAP in the subject line.

  • 61: Stamina That Lasts the Day
    Sep 2 2026

Two o'clock. You reach for something sweet, something with caffeine, anything to get through the rest of the day, and you call it a bad habit. It's not a habit. It's a hormone with no plan.

In Part Five of Still Moving, Diana breaks down what's actually driving the afternoon crash: a blood sugar swing that gets bigger every time you feed it, not a willpower problem and not your age. Then she gives you the Thirty-Minute Window, three checkpoints in your day, waking, lunch, and the half hour before bed, that change what your afternoon does to you. No supplements. No tracking. Just timing.

This episode connects directly to Episode 60 (mental fatigue drains physical stamina too) and sets up the finale in Episode 62, where all five Still Moving episodes come together into one picture.

If this is your first episode, start with Episode 57 for the fullest picture, then come back here.

  • 60: Bringing the Brain Back (Still Moving, Part 4)
    Aug 26 2026
I forgot how to spell "with" the night before delivering testimony to a regulatory committee. Four letters. A word I'd written ten thousand times. That wasn't a stumble, it was a total blank, and it's more common in your 50s than anyone tells you. This episode is for any woman in midlife who's walked into a room and forgotten why, lost a word mid-sentence in front of people who matter, or quietly wondered what's coming for her brain next. It's part four of the Still Moving series, and it covers what runs underneath the strength, balance, and posture we've already talked about: your brain. In this episode, you'll learn: Why sustained stress, not aging itself, causes the word-loss and brain fog you're noticing in your 50s The research showing dance outperforms cardio, weights, and walking alone for memory and cognitive function, across 27 studies and more than 1,300 people The three signaling molecules your muscles hand your brain every time you strength train, and why that's biology, not motivation Why a year of ordinary walking grew one group's memory center (the hippocampus) by 2 percent, while a stretching-only group's shrank 1.5 percent, in the same 12 months What the part of your brain that handles balance (the cerebellum) actually does for your thinking, and why coordinated movement asks more of it than walking alone Three ways to put your brain back to work on purpose: the cross count, the "change one thing" rule, and a 30-second reset you can do at a table without anyone noticing Diana also walks through the two weeks that changed things for a client, a woman running a team of 40 who'd started keeping a legal pad in every meeting just to track the words she was losing. Two weeks into one new movement pattern, done badly on purpose, and the legal pad stopped getting used. About Diana: Diana Devi is a clinical pharmacist of more than 40 years and an Argentine tango teacher. She's the host of Midlife Reset and built An Ageless Life around one idea: aging is an upgrade, not a decline, when your body and brain get the right kind of movement. Mentioned in this episode: Episode 53, Where Did You Go? How Movement Brings You Back (Running on Full) Episode 57, Strength Is the New Currency (Still Moving, Part 1) Your Ageless Map waitlist: email diana@anagelesslife.com with MAP in the subject line If this episode helped, the kindest thing you can do is share it with one friend who's had her own "forgot how to spell it" moment.
