Over 2023-2024, with funding support from the Upstate Creative Corps, singer/songwriter/activist Michelle Amador will host six Dialogues and six informal Shows.

Dialogues will engage 36 Nevada County artists, providing a paid stipend for two hours of participation. The Dialogues will focus on co-creating a countywide resource for artists (modeled after Western States Center's https://www.inclusivepractice.org on how to partner with causes artists care about in Nevada County and the relationship of art to democracy.


Shows will premiere new music works by Michelle and open mic responses from artists as a resource for community-building. Audiences will be limited to 20-30 ppl maximum. Shows will be free admission. Open mic artists will be provided with a stipend for sharing artistic work.

    Singer, songwriter, activist and nonprofit administrator, Michelle Amador, builds on the knowledgebase created by Western States Center's Inclusive Practice (inclusivepractice.org) by speaking with four artists - Yasmin Badshamiah, Marta Rocamora, Pancho Tomaselli, and Maggie McKagin, from Nevada County in CA about the social causes closest to their hearts, how we might contribute positively to our communities, and how our work supports inclusive democracy.
