Bored with the monotony of his life as the privileged son of a wealthy businessman, Travers Gladwin stumbles upon a daring plot by a notorious art burglar to rob his home. Instead of stopping the heist, Travers seizes the opportunity for adventure by donning a borrowed police uniform and decides to confront the burglar head-on. When the actual thief shows up, he attempts to impersonate Travers himself, leading to a whirlwind of mistaken identities and hilarious complications—especially with the arrival of the burglars girlfriend, who mistakenly believes her partner is the affluent heir. This delightful tale, filled with comedic twists, has been adapted into several successful films, capturing audiences with its charm and wit. (Summary by Roger Melin)
