As the new academic year begins, Miami University is welcoming a diverse and talented group of first-year students. In other news, the Myaamia Center has been invited to participate in the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington, D.C., from July 2-7. Students will demonstrate lacrosse, ribbon work, language lessons, and gardening, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Miami Tribe. Miami University continues to be recognized for its academic excellence. The university has been ranked as one of America's best colleges by The Wall Street Journal, highlighting its commitment to providing a high-quality education. In the realm of research, Darwin Guevarra, assistant professor of Psychology, was a lead author on a weeklong online wellness program designed to boost well-being called the Big Joy Project. Looking ahead to the upcoming football season, the Miami RedHawks are gearing up for an exciting year. Under the leadership of Head Coach Chuck Martin, now in his twelfth year, the team is preparing to make a strong showing in the Mid-American Conference.
