After a terrible start, the Canadians Roared back to win 4 of 6 main event fights (after winning just 1 prior). Mike Malott capped it off with an "Accidental" KO of Joaquin Buckley. Jasmine Jasudavicius is in title contention, did not see that coming and Kyle Nelson, Kyle Daukaus, Nate Landwehr, Jhonta Diniz, Julien Leblanc and Chad Anheliger badly need to find a new way to make money. Cause this is not the way.

First up, it sounds like Raoni Barcelos is going to retire. Hopefully thats for good reasons (such as him deciding to not push his luck and having the finances to walk away) rather than some grim Medical news.

The UFC has a live premium event coming up (to borrow WWE terminology for the artist formerly known as Pay Per View) and the main event is the most no thought, no effort one in awhile. A vacant title that doesn't need to be vacant, a challenger that even Dana can't really defend and a card heavy on old/washed fighters.

Can it still be good? Well we are going find out.

First up best wishes and thoughts for Raoni Barcelos to make a full recovery from whatever ended the main event. That's more important than anything else on this card.

The main even between Barcelos and Raul Rosas Jr was fantastic but the card otherwise left a lot to be desired. But we did get Dumas getting submitted again and maybe (but probably not) for the final time.

Weird Apex offering this week. On one hand, the main event is just not fitting of the label nor is the co-main event. BUT the undercard is really solid. Very few fighters who fall under the "Why are you here label?" so is that a good card? I really don't know.

Quick note before I get into the event, during the recording I said Sharaff got nuked, clearly I meant Sharaff Nuked. I am aware and very happy Gable Steveson lost, I just had a verbal slip up lol.

UFC 331 was quite good. Main event was a solid nerd style technical fight, not quite as good as I hoped, not quite as scrambly but thrilling and/or interesting throughout.

Also it was helped by 3 straight first round KOs before that including the aforementioned Gable Steveson feel good KO moment. Yes if you defend Gable you are are being an asshole and that's it. Also Jon Jones as his coach is a terrible idea.

Shoutout to Courtney Casey for a very cool submission, Marlon Vera and Pitbull turning back the clocks and my pure effort fighter Michael Aswell Jr getting a W.

UFC 331 has an INSANELY GOOD MAIN EVENT, I am drooling and not just because my jaw is messed up. But the rest of the card........honestly feels weak. Does that mean bad? Not necessarily but the rest of the card doesn't have my nerd fight fan motor running.
