Men After God is a Christian podcast for men who want to lead well at home, at work, and in their own hearts. It's for husbands and fathers who work hard, go to church, and still feel like nobody ever showed them how to lead the people they love. Three hosts bring plain, Bible-grounded conversation on God, marriage, fatherhood, work, and brotherhood, with one thing you can put into practice this week.

Don't be a perfect man. Be a pursuing man.

WHO IT'S FOR

The man who loves his family and wants to lead them better. The dad who snapped at his kids again and wants to know why. The husband who keeps fixing problems when his wife needs him to listen. The guy with plenty of acquaintances and nobody to call when it falls apart. The pastor or men's ministry leader looking for something honest to hand the men in his church.

HOW IT WORKS

Each host records on his own, so every episode goes deep on one idea from one man's lane instead of skimming ten. Every so often all three sit down together. No hype and no performance, just men telling the truth about where they are and pointing other men back to Christ.

MEET THE HOSTS

Adrian Ferrari: Wisdom and Daily Discipline

Adrian pastors a church, planted churches before that, and served as a missionary in Argentina. He teaches straight through the text, verse by verse, most often in Proverbs: integrity, self-control, the tongue, humility at home, and the slow drift that takes a man down long before anyone notices.

Luke Sorensen: Inner Healing and Relational Repair

Luke is an emotional intelligence coach and has co-hosted since season two. He brings a coach's language to the things men carry and rarely say out loud: shame and identity, grief and trauma, forgiveness, boundaries, apology, and rebuilding trust after it breaks. Then he puts Scripture underneath it.

Dustin Alley: Leading Yourself, Your Home, and Your Men

Dr. Dustin Alley is a Marine Corps veteran, a pastor, and the author of Becoming a Man After God. He teaches the disciplines that hold when nobody is watching, what a wife and children need from a man, and how to go from having friends to having brothers. He also speaks to pastors and church leaders rebuilding their men's ministry.

WHAT YOU'LL HEAR

Christian marriage: listening, conflict, humility, and loving your wife well

Christian fatherhood: being present, handling anger, and passing down something better than you were handed

Faith and work: integrity, discipline, and the stewardship of your time

Men's emotional and mental health from a biblical view: shame, grief, loneliness, and burnout

Brotherhood and discipleship: real friendship between men, mentoring, and men's ministry

Bible study for men: Proverbs and practical wisdom for ordinary days

  • The 5-Pillar Framework Every Christian Man Needs (Ditching Cookie-Cutter Faith)
    Apr 7 2026

Are you tired of "cookie-cutter Christianity"? Many Christian men feel exhausted and guilty, trying to squeeze their life into a rigid spiritual system that wasn’t designed for their wiredness or current season of life.

In this powerful transition episode, Dr. Dustin Alley and Luke Sorensen address the dangerous distinction between a rigid "system" and a customizable "framework." Using examples from bad marriage counseling to the ideal time for devotions, they explore how to stop copying other people's spiritual habits and start following Jesus as the man God uniquely made you to be.

If deepen your relationship with Jesus is your foundation, this framework provides the architectural necessary to hold up the other essential areas of your life. We introduce the five areas every Christian man must schedule into his week—and if you can't find room for these five, you are overbooked.

In this episode, we break down:

    • The "Perfectly Normal" Trap: Celebrated 4,000 downloads and a humbling anecdote from an Easter lunch that confronted Dustin's pride.
    • System vs. Framework: Why cookie-cutter approaches fail under pressure, and how to find freedom in a customizable Biblical framework.
    • A philosophical Friday night text: Dustin dives deep on why we must learn to live from the love of Jesus rather than pursuing it.
    • Luke’s Struggles: Why developing self and delivering value are easy for him, but devoting time to family and "doing nothing" requires intense intentionality.
    • The Permission Slip: Giving you permission to obey the Holy Spirit’s promptings, even when your season of obedience looks different from the man in the pew next to you.
    The 5-Pillar Framework Identified:

We define the five pillars you need to maintain balance, authority, and peace:

    1. Deepen your relationship with Jesus (The Foundation)
    2. Devote time to your family
    3. Develop yourself
    4. Deliver value to others
    5. Do nothing for Jesus (The essential "brain glitch" statement on Sabbath and Rest).
