Step inside the abandoned halls of Medfield State Hospital, a sprawling psychiatric institution that operated for more than a century and housed thousands of patients behind its imposing brick walls. Opened in 1896, the hospital was once considered progressive for its time, but like many mental health facilities of the era, it witnessed overcrowding, controversial treatments, patient suffering, and countless untold stories.
We explore the history of Medfield State Hospital, and the eerie legends that continue to surround the abandoned campus today.
