Are we really listening to what Jesus says? Andrew Whitmarsh continues our Meet the King series in Mark 4:1–34, exploring Jesus’ parables of the sower, the growing seed and the mustard seed.

Sharing God’s Word can seem weak and wasteful, and seeing its fruit takes patience. Yet God is at work, bringing a harvest far beyond what we can imagine. Andrew encourages us to keep listening to Jesus, keep sharing his Word, and keep praying for others without writing anyone off.

Recorded at Maxwell Church Kilmaurs on Sunday 18th October 2026.

A sermon by Alan Clark at Maxwell Church, Kilmaurs, on 11th October 2026, with a reading from Mark 3.

Chapter overview: Mark 3 includes Jesus healing on the Sabbath, choosing the twelve apostles, and responding to accusations about the source of his power. It also describes his teaching about those who do God’s will as his family. This gives the wider context for the sermon’s reading.
