This was a new genre for us, and we ended up really enjoying it. From the messy world of publishing to conversations about race, identity, and online culture, this book gave us lots to talk about. Plus, it was our first audiobook experience with an R.F. Kuang book, and it definitely left an impression.

Tune in as we share our thoughts, favorite moments, and whether *Yellowface* lived up to the hype!

Join us as we review Arsenic and Adobo by Mia P. Manansala!

We loved how Filipino culture, family, and food were woven throughout the story, and how well the mystery was written—it kept us guessing until the very end.

Our review of Katabasis by R.F. Kuang 📚

Even though none of us finished the book, we all made it to different chapters before deciding not to continue. There was a disconnect for us—whether it was because we had been reading dark academia books back-to-back or simply the way this story was written, we’re not quite sure.

The journey through Hell felt much longer than expected, and we found ourselves struggling to stay engaged. Maybe it just wasn’t the right book for us at this time.

We might give it another try in the future, but for now, we’re moving on to our next read.

Did you finish Katabasis? What were your thoughts? Did you love it, DNF it, or are you still reading? 📖✨

Quick note: Some parts of the background music/noise were a little louder than expected, so it may be hard to hear us at times. We recommend watching with captions (CC) turned on YouTube. Thanks for understanding! 😊

We tried a new spot, Midori, tucked inside the super cute 90’s-inspired N90’s. ✨ We had their matcha and a tiramisu drink, and both were so good! The whole place has such a fun nostalgic vibe and feels like a little hidden gem. If you love unique cafés and cozy spots, this one is definitely worth checking out. 💚
