On the latest episode of the Maryland Living Podcast, hosts John Reynolds, Megan Burke, and Pete Fettig hang out in the studio with the incredibly talented country music singer, songwriter, and Nashville recording artist, MIGGS. Fresh off headlining a powerful benefit concert for the Katherine's Light Foundation at the Severna Park Tap House, MIGGS shares his inspiring journey from growing up in the live music hub of Austin, Texas, to serving in the military, and ultimately planting roots in Maryland.

He dives deep into how he channels personal heartbreaks and family milestones into his heartfelt songwriting, giving listeners a behind-the-scenes look at the real-life inspiration behind tracks like Never Far Away and his country radio hit, One Sip Away. MIGGS opens up about the tight-knit, supportive nature of the Maryland music community, how his time in the Air Force shaped his outlook on life, and how he balances life as a network engineer by day and a high-energy performer by night.

The gang puts MIGGS on the spot with some fun, un-prepared rapid-fire questions—where he officially chooses Texas barbecue over Maryland crab cakes and shares his surprising desert island album picks. To wrap it all up, MIGGS treats the audience to a beautiful, exclusive acoustic performance in the podcast studio. Check the show notes for links to his upcoming shows, including the upcoming Tailgoat party in July and Country Calling festival in October!

(Get comfortable, because the gang just dropped one of their longest—and wildest—episodes yet.

This week, we are thrilled to welcome Hunter Parks (aka The BIG HUNT) of Parks Insurance Advisors LLC of Valor Insurance. Hunter is a man of many talents: insurance expert, film buff, proud Marylander, and possessor of a shockingly good quick wit.

Before we dive into Hunter’s fascinating backstory, the gang takes some mandatory detours. We’re talking 4th of July debriefs, an aggressively long conversation about bidets, and the first of many rounds of age-shaming John.

Later, Hunter shares the beautiful story behind The Lisa Parks Foundation (founded in honor of his amazing mother) before pivoting hard into cinema. Discover his favorite films and get a sneak peek at his genius idea for an Ocean City-themed slasher movie. Plus, you cannot miss Hunter absolutely nailing the iconic Ezekiel speech from Pulp Fiction.

Throw in Megan and John being salty to each other, Pete dropping some unexpected poetry, and the longest episode wrap-up in human history, and you've got an instant classic. Enjoy!

In this bonus episode of the Maryland Living Podcast, hosts John Reynolds and Megan Burke sit down with Severna Park locals Larry and Robin Sells, founders of the Katherine’s Light Foundation. Created to honor their late daughter, Katherine, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit brings awareness, education, and research to those navigating neuroendocrine tumor (NET) cancer. Larry and Robin discuss how their entirely volunteer-run foundation has already donated $210,000 to cancer research and localized patient care. Robin also bravely shares the frequently misdiagnosed early symptoms of NET cancer—such as severe reflux, flushing, and chronic diarrhea—in hopes of helping other families secure an early diagnosis.

The episode also highlights the foundation's largest annual fundraiser, coming up on June 13 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Severna Park Tap House. The high-energy event features live music, raffles, and silent and live auctions for vacation getaways.

Listeners can learn how to attend, sponsor, or donate by visiting Katherineslight.org or emailing info@Katherineslight.org.

Co-host Pete Fettig is missed on this episode while vacationing with family.

Welcome back to another high-energy episode of The Maryland Living Podcast! This week, the gang sits down with the multi-talented Brandee Brown. As a local Realtor and the proprietor of South County Sportsman in Lothian, MD, Brandee brings a fascinating perspective to the show. She pulls back the curtain on her unique journey into the firearms industry, breaks down the current laws surrounding gun ownership in Maryland, and shares why top-tier gun safety education is her absolute number one priority. Plus, she takes us down memory lane to reveal how her fiercely independent, Cadillac-driving Realtor Grandmother inspired her to jump into the real estate world in the first place. The gang has been eating incredibly well across the state lately and they have plenty of delicious local recommendations to share. Megan raves about her fantastic dinner at Sam & Maggie’s Dockside Grill in Pasadena, while Pete recaps a stellar weekend meal over at The Point Crab House and Grill in Arnold. The gang is back! Join Megan, John, and Pete for a high-energy return to the Maryland Living Podcast, where professional real estate expertise meets casual studio banter. This episode kicks off with Megan’s "slightly terrifying" account of how a routine call for car trouble somehow led to a 3:30 a.m. police welfare check at her neighbor’s house. It’s a wild ride involving neighborhood relations, high-tech bird feeders, and a story that sounds like it was ripped straight from a mystery novel.

The conversation keeps moving as John reveals a fascinating historical link between a legendary prohibition-era gangster and a prominent Baltimore hospital. The team also settles some of the "great Maryland debates"—tackling everything from controversial ice cream toppings to the proper way to tilt your window blinds—before checking in on the massive renovation projects and seasonal events currently buzzing in Annapolis.

To wrap things up, the team dives into the Spring 2026 Real Estate Update to decode the "new normal" of the Central Maryland market. With mortgage rates and inventory levels on the move, they discuss why a data-driven strategy is essential for navigating today's shifting landscape. It’s an episode packed with local lore, market insights, and plenty of laughs, so be sure to like, share, and subscribe on YouTube and social media!
