In this episode of Making My Way South, Jeremy and Ryan talk about something that still carries a lot of stigma for many people. Therapy.

For a long time, therapy has been misunderstood as something you only turn to when something is “wrong.” In reality, it can be one of the most powerful tools for understanding yourself, processing life’s challenges, and learning how to move forward with intention.

Jeremy and Ryan share their personal experiences with therapy, how their perspectives on it have changed over time, and why they believe it should be seen as a normal and healthy part of personal growth.

They also talk about the anxieties that come with major life changes. Moving somewhere new, changing careers, starting over, or simply stepping outside your comfort zone can bring excitement, but they can also bring fear, uncertainty, and self-doubt.

During this conversation they explore how anxiety can sometimes hold us back, how it can sometimes protect us, and how learning to work through those emotions can be an important step toward building the life you want.

As always, the episode ends with Pit and Peak of the Week, where Jeremy and Ryan share some of the highs and lows happening in their lives right now.

If you have ever struggled with anxiety, considered therapy, or felt nervous about making a big change in your life, this episode is for you.

In this episode of Making My Way South, we’re taking a step back from the move and the updates to tell our story.

We talk about how we met, what that first year together looked like, the time in between, the breakup, and what ultimately brought us back together. No relationship is perfect, and some of the hardest moments are the ones that shape you the most.

We also check in with our Pit and Peak of the week. Jeremy talks about dealing with frozen pipes during the winter storm, while Ryan shares an update involving Tyson and his not-so-great potty habits.

To wrap things up, we bring the conversation full circle by revisiting Episode 4 of Making My Way South and reflecting on the role courage plays in making big changes, trusting your decisions, and not worrying about what others think.

This episode is honest, personal, and a reminder that growth sometimes means taking a step back before moving forward.

This week on Making My Way South, we dive into two very different conversations that both hit close to home.

We start by talking about a recent case out of Las Cruces, New Mexico, involving a fake nurse who was caught working without proper credentials. We break down what’s been reported, why stories like this matter, and how situations like this affect trust in healthcare, especially when nursing is part of your everyday life.

Then we shift gears and talk about what’s ahead. Ryan opens up about why he’s been seriously looking into getting his CDL, what sparked the interest, and how it could create new opportunities and flexibility as we plan for the next chapter of our lives.

Along the way, we also check in on where we’re at with our move, how the progress is feeling right now, and some honest thoughts about the ups, downs, and uncertainty that come with big life changes.

As always, this episode is an open and honest look at where we’re at, what we’re learning, and how we’re figuring it out one step at a time.

In this episode of Making My Way South, we’re catching up on real life before diving into some of the Southwest’s most chilling legends.

We start with a recap of Ryan’s birthday, share an update on Jeremy’s nursing license transfer to New Mexico, and talk about the countdown as we hit one month until our next road trip. It’s a mix of celebration, stress, and excitement as our journey continues to take shape.

Then we head down the folklore and superstition rabbit hole, exploring two of the most well-known and unsettling legends in New Mexico and the Southwest: La Llorona and La Mala Hora. These stories have been passed down for generations, tied to warnings, late-night encounters, and experiences people still swear are real today.

From personal updates to cultural legends that refuse to fade, this episode blends everyday life with the darker stories woven into the places we’re drawn to.

Settle in, listen closely, and join us as we continue making our way south.

In this episode of Making My Way South, we step outside our usual conversations and take a deep dive into a disturbing true crime case that has haunted a community for decades.

We explore the Las Cruces Bowling Alley Massacre, a brutal and still-unsolved crime that took place on the morning of February 10, 1990, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. What should have been a routine morning before opening hours turned into a nightmare involving extreme violence, unanswered questions, and an investigation filled with missing pieces. Throughout the episode, we walk through what happened, who was inside the bowling alley that morning, how the crime unfolded, and why this case remains one of the most unsettling cold cases in New Mexico history.

This story is not just shocking because of the violence involved, but because of how much still does not make sense decades later. We discuss the timeline, early investigative challenges, public speculation, possible connections to other crimes, and why justice has never been fully realized for the victims and survivors.

⚠️ Content Warning:
This episode contains discussion of violent crime, including gun violence and the deaths of adults and children. Listener discretion is strongly advised.

As always, Making My Way South is about sharing stories that matter, even when they are difficult to hear. Thank you for trusting us with this one.
