We step into a powerful moment in the early ministry of Jesus — from the healing of Peter’s mother-in-law to the quiet place where Jesus withdraws to pray. In just a few short verses, we see two life-shaping truths:
• Worship is a response.
When Peter’s mother-in-law is healed, she immediately begins to serve. Her service wasn’t obligation — it was gratitude. Real worship flows naturally from a heart that has encountered the healing power of Jesus.
• Jesus prioritized intimacy with the Father.
Before the crowds gathered, before the ministry expanded, Jesus rose early to pray. If the Son of God sought closeness with the Father, how much more should we? Ministry must flow from relationship — not replace it.
This episode challenges us to ask:
Are we responding to Jesus with wholehearted worship?
And are we guarding time alone with the Father the way Jesus did?
