Heart Share with Veleta Whitfield | A Seat at the Queen's Table | Wives Who War
We've been fed. We've been taught. We've been equipped.
Now what are we going to do with what we've received?
At the Queen's Table, Veleta Whitfield brought a timely challenge: “We need to go from receiving, now we need to respond.”
Drawing from Hebrews 5:11–14, Veleta reminded us that spiritual maturity requires moving beyond the milk of basic instruction into the solid food of practiced faith. It's not enough to know the Word. We must live it.
And after months of alignment, stewardship, discernment, authority, obedience, covenant, rest, faithfulness, and transition, there's an expectation that something in us has changed.
“God develops us before He deploys us.”
Veleta described this year as spiritual boot camp—a season of preparation that equips us to serve God in our homes, marriages, workplaces, and communities.
But this wasn't just a lesson about preparation. It was a testimony of perseverance.
Veleta shared how navigating a cancer recurrence has deepened her dependence on God, challenged her faith, and revealed the maturity developed through previous seasons. Her testimony reminded us that spiritual growth doesn't eliminate difficult circumstances. It changes how we walk through them.
And then the Table began to speak!
We talked about spiritual muscle memory, pruning, emotional maturity, keeping our oil lamps full, and recognizing that every stage of growth carries purpose.
“Clay has no say!”
“God wastes nothing!”
“Every stage has a purpose for your life.”
Then the conversation moved into a powerful declaration that carried us through the remainder of our time together:
HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT.
Sufficient for the diagnosis. Sufficient for the uncertainty. Sufficient for the marriage, the family, the grief, the disappointment, and the responsibilities we carry.
Because maturity doesn't mean we possess the strength for everything ahead of us.
It means we've learned to depend on the God whose strength is made perfect in our weakness.
We have not arrived. But we are growing, and what God has developed in us is meant to be lived out.
So, here's the question:
Are you simply receiving the Word, or are you responding to what God has already taught you?
Pull up your chair. There's still room at the Table.
