This week, Pastor Tim refers to a passage within Luke 5 where he eats with the tax collectors, one of them notably known as Levi, which is the Hebrew name for the author of the first Gospel Matthew. The Pharisees, who hated the tax collectors like Matthew, questions Jesus as to why he is eating with those types of people, and the answer was plain simple: Jesus ate with the sinners. He chose to provide life for them, and for us.
