Luíse O'Donovan (they/them) is a queer ecologist with a focus on seabird conservation and marine ecosystems. They work on seabird tracking projects, and have contributed to seabird censuses and monitored breeding wader populations. Luíse values wildlife for its own sake, and for how it connects us to our culture & to each other.

The first few are available through your local library. I love the ‘Collins Bird guide’, or Birds of Ireland for a more concise ID guide.
‘Braiding Sweetgrass’ by Robin Wall Kimmerer will recentre your idea of where humans exist in the web of life!
I read ‘Forest Euphoria’ by Patricia Kaishan recently and really loved it,
and recommend ‘Slugs: a Manifesto’ by Abi Palmer to those who are grossed out by our slimy compatriots and those who love them equally.
