The Atlanta Hawks are on the brink of a 1 game elimination from the NBA Playoffs as the New York Knicks take a 3-2 postseason series lead.

NYK may have exposed ATL's biggest weakness in the frontcourt ultimately leaving Atlanta scrambling for answers to an unfulfilled void that could conclude the series as early as Thursday at State Farm Arena for game 6.

From start to finish the New York Knicks dominated the Atlanta Hawks from every facet of game 4 at State Farm Arena, ultimately pushing ATL to the brink of a tied series at 2-2.

New York's increased defensive pressure took advantage of Atlanta and exposed their inability to get stops with efficient shooting and contribution from its energetic bench including early/often activity from Karl-Anthony Towns.

Turnovers and limited transition opportunities proved to be too costly to avoid a steep 24-point deficit despite its rebounding and interior scoring albeit outmatched in size.

The Atlanta Hawks hosted the New York Knicks in a game 3 thriller at State Farm Arena where winner takes the series lead, currently tied 1-1 after ATL led by 18 points after a 3rd quarter surge and held on for a 1-point win.

Atlanta held NYK to only 2 Knicks in the scoring column in the 1st quarter of the contest before Karl-Anthony Towns disappeared for much of the 1st half. ATL would continue to be carried by its defense on the perimeter, ultimately forcing NY to shoot 29% from the perimeter and despite being outscored on the interior & an underwhelming 69% from the line, the Hawks' bench outscored New York by a single point in a game that was decided by a single point.
