  • LW Mini S6 Ep 1 Nov 2026 Hawaii updates and the rest of the west
    Nov 2 2026

November is packed, and if you’re raising livestock or running an ag business, the hard part is not finding opportunities, it’s knowing which ones matter and when the deadlines hit. We walk through our month-ahead updates for Hawaii and Nebraska so you can quickly decide what to watch, where to register, and what to put on your calendar before it gets buried by chores and holiday plans.

On the Hawaii side, we point you to livestock education you can actually use, including the webinar series mentioned as “E Ulu Kākou: Hawaiʻi’s Agriculture Market Readiness Program – Livestock Webinar Series,” plus a weaning management webinar coming to the Livestock Extension Group YouTube channel. We talk through why weaning planning, vaccination protocols, and drought conditions belong in the same conversation, and we share key reminders on USDA NRCS conservation programs for the Pacific Islands, including timing that affects future funding consideration. We also flag additional NRCS support through the Regenerative Pilot Program tied to EQIP or CSP, and we highlight the Hawaii Cattlemen’s Conference for anyone wanting to learn and connect in person.

Then we shift to Nebraska and the rest of the West with a clear rundown of Farm Bill update meetings, where to confirm times and locations, and what you can ask about programs like ARC County and PLC. We also share learning opportunities that strengthen your risk management and business planning, including a crop insurance marketing webinar, Ag Smart Money Week sessions on cash flow and enterprise budgeting, and a “Recipe to Reality” workshop designed for aspiring food entrepreneurs who want to take a family recipe to a sellable, shelf-stable product.

If these resources help you plan the month, subscribe, share this with a producer friend, and leave a review so more people can find practical livestock extension support.
