  • 9. Laughter, Loss, and the Art of Living Well | Lisa Valentine Clark
    Oct 20 2026

What does it really mean to live a good life—and how do we keep living it when life takes an unexpected turn?

In this episode of Live Longer. Live Stronger. — Lessons from a Centenarian, Brad and Keros Lowder sit down with Lisa Valentine Clark, comedian, actress, and host of the award-winning The Lisa Show, for a thoughtful and often funny conversation about purpose, relationships, grief, resilience, and the art of living well.

Lisa has experienced the joys and challenges of raising five children, building a creative career, and caring for her late husband, Christopher, through his battle with ALS. Those experiences have given her a powerful perspective on what matters most—and why we shouldn't wait to live the life we want.

Together, we explore why longevity is about much more than the number of years we live. It's about the relationships we nurture, the purpose we discover, the joy we make room for, and the ways we respond when life doesn't go according to plan.

    In this conversation, we discuss:

    • Don't wait to live: Why we should tell people we love them now and stop saving life's good things for a special occasion.

    • Finding purpose: How relationships, service, creativity, and contribution can make life meaningful at any age.

    • Grief and resilience: What Lisa learned from caring for her husband through ALS, and how faith and hope can coexist with pain.

    • The healing power of humor: Why laughter matters, even during difficult seasons, without pretending that grief isn't real.

    • The “Yes, and” philosophy: How the principles of improvisation can help us adapt to change, let go of rigid expectations, and move forward.

    • The importance of connection: Simple ways to help loved ones avoid isolation and feel valued and included.

    • The freedom to be a beginner: Why hobbies don't have to become businesses, and why we can benefit from learning new skills without needing to be great at them.

    • Building a lasting legacy: How sharing family stories and telling people what we appreciate about them can strengthen identity, belonging, and relationships across generations.

One of Lisa's most memorable insights is that life isn't a solo project—it's a group project. The people we love, the small moments we share, and the kindness we offer may ultimately matter more than the accomplishments that look impressive from the outside.

Our takeaway: We can't control how many years we'll be given, but we can be intentional about how we live them.

Join us as we explore what it means to live longer, live stronger, and make the most of the life we have.

  • 8. How to Design a Life You Love at Any Age | Dr. Brian Hill
    Oct 12 2026

What if a happier, healthier, more meaningful life isn't something you simply stumble into—but something you can intentionally design?

At 65, Dr. Brian Hill is preparing to climb Mount Rainier. He's also a professor at BYU who teaches a popular course called Creating a Good Life Through Experience Design. His work explores a powerful question: What can we do today to create a better life—not just for now, but for the years ahead?

In this episode of Live Longer. Live Stronger., Brad and Keros Lowder sit down with Brian to explore the science of happiness, the importance of purpose, and how the experiences we create can shape our well-being as we age.

    In this conversation, we explore:

    • The power of having a goal: Why training for a big adventure can improve your health, motivation, and sense of purpose.

    • The science of happiness: What positive psychology teaches us about building a more satisfying life.

    • Relationships and longevity: Why strong social connections are so important to happiness and healthy aging.

    • Finding purpose after retirement: How to keep contributing, serving, and growing in the next chapter of life.

    • The power of your strengths: Why doing more of what you're naturally good at may be a better path to meaning than constantly trying to fix your weaknesses.

    • Simple ways to be happier today: Practice gratitude, spend time outdoors, forgive yourself and others, and learn to challenge pessimistic thoughts.

One of Brian's most important lessons is that a good life requires more than pleasure or comfort. It also needs meaning, accomplishment, connection, and opportunities to contribute to something bigger than ourselves.

You don't have to climb Mount Rainier to put these ideas into practice. You can start today.

    ABOUT LIVE LONGER. LIVE STRONGER.

We're a father-son team exploring how to live longer, stronger, and with greater purpose. Through conversations with researchers, physicians, and people who are putting longevity principles into practice, we're discovering how to prepare for the years we hope to earn.

  • 7. Stop Worrying About Your Adult Kids: Jody Moore on Aging with More Peace and Purpose

Stop Worrying About Your Adult Kids: Jody Moore on Aging with More Peace and Purpose

What if one of the biggest obstacles to living a longer, stronger, happier life isn't what we're doing with our bodies—but what we're doing with our minds?

In this episode of Live Longer. Live Stronger., Brad and Keros Lowder sit down with master certified coach Jody Moore, host of Better Than Happy, for a fascinating conversation about mindset, purpose, worry, aging and the way we think about the people we love.

At 68, Brad is on a personal mission to understand what he can do now to be healthy, strong and engaged at 90. Jody brings a different—and surprisingly practical—perspective: the way we think about aging, our circumstances, our adult children and even our future selves can profoundly influence how we experience the years ahead.

One of the most powerful parts of the conversation focuses on something many parents of adult children struggle with:

How do you love your children without carrying their problems for them?

Jody explains the difference between facts and the stories we tell ourselves about those facts, and why worrying about someone isn't necessarily the same thing as helping them.

She offers three practical things listeners can begin doing immediately:

    • Journal your thoughts and separate facts from the stories you're telling yourself.
    • Intentionally fill your mind with empowering ideas rather than constantly consuming fear and negativity.
    • Ask yourself: “What would love do?”—for your children, your relationships, and yourself.

Jody also shares one of the episode's most memorable ideas: learning to love your future self.

Sometimes that means making a choice today that your future self will thank you for—going for the walk instead of watching another hour of television, getting enough sleep, or taking care of your body even when you don't feel like it.

    • Why mindset matters as we age
    • Finding purpose after retirement or when children leave home
    • The difference between worrying about adult children and actually helping them
    • How our thoughts influence our emotions and behavior
    • Why worry can feel useful even when it isn't
    • Learning to separate facts from our interpretations
    • How to love your past self without excusing your mistakes
    • How to make choices your future self will appreciate
    • The importance of purpose, agency and meaningful relationships
    • Three simple practices you can start today

Jody's message ultimately comes down to something remarkably simple:

“Get to love. What would love do?”

If you're trying to live not only longer, but stronger—with greater purpose, peace and joy, this conversation is worth your time.

At 68, Brad Lowder has set himself a personal goal: to be healthy, strong and active at 90.

His son Keros Lowder is joining him on the journey.

Together, they interview physicians, longevity researchers, wellness experts, coaches and remarkable people to discover what we can do today to improve our chances of living a long, healthy and meaningful life.

The podcast is inspired in part by Brad's experience watching his father-in-law, Russell M. Nelson, live past 100, and by the question:

What can we learn from someone who lived that long—and how can we apply those lessons to our own lives?
