Life is full of storms—unexpected challenges that shake us to our core. Whether it’s the loss of a job, financial struggles, health crises, betrayal, broken relationships, or the passing of a loved one, no one is immune.

I’ve faced my share of storms—losing loved ones, enduring health challenges, surviving betrayal, trauma, and even life-threatening situations. Yet through it all, I’ve discovered that peace isn’t found in the absence of trouble—it’s found in the presence of God, even in the midst of chaos.

In Peace in the Storm, we explore how to:

  • Remain calm, centered, and hopeful when life feels overwhelming
  • Find inner calm during uncertainty
  • Release the need to control every outcome
  • Trust God’s plan, even when answers seem delayed
  • Experience genuine peace without waiting for perfect circumstances

This podcast is for anyone navigating difficult seasons, seeking hope, and longing for the peace that transcends circumstance. Join me as we learn to anchor our hearts in God and discover that true peace is possible—right in the middle of the storm.

  • Can You Love God and Still Struggle With Anxiety? Understanding Faith, Fear & Human Weakness
    Oct 13 2026

Can you love God and still struggle with anxiety? Can you trust God and still feel afraid, overwhelmed, or emotionally exhausted?

In this episode of Light & Peace Through the Storm, Cecilia explores the connection between Christian faith, anxiety, mental health, and human weakness. If you have ever questioned your faith because you felt anxious or wondered why you were struggling despite your prayers, this conversation is for you.

Through the biblical experiences of Elijah, Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, and the honest prayers found in the Psalms, we discover that moments of weakness do not automatically mean our faith has failed. Even people of extraordinary faith experienced fear, anguish, exhaustion, and the need for reassurance.

We also explore the psychological side of anxiety, including how prolonged stress affects our bodies and minds, why isolation can make our struggles harder, and why we need supportive relationships, rest, and practical care.

    In this episode, we discuss:

    • Can you have strong faith and still struggle with anxiety?
    • What Elijah's exhaustion teaches us about God's compassion.
    • How Jesus expressed anguish while trusting the Father.
    • Why emotional and physical exhaustion should not be mistaken for spiritual failure.
    • The importance of community, encouragement, and asking for help.
    • Five practical ways to respond to anxiety and emotional overwhelm.
    • How to acknowledge your feelings while continuing to trust God.

Your faith does not mean you must always feel strong. You can be afraid and still pray. You can feel overwhelmed and still trust God. You can need support and still have faith.

If you are walking through a difficult season, may this conversation remind you that you are human, you are not alone, and you do not have to pretend to be strong all the time.

Reflection question: Where are you trying too hard to be strong, and who might you need to let into your struggle?

Listen, reflect, and share this episode with someone who needs encouragement.

  • Ep. 19: I Was Right—And I Almost Lost My Marriage Over It
    Sep 23 2026

I Was Right. And I Almost Lost My Marriage Over It.

What if being right is costing you the connection you want most?

In this episode, I share a deeply personal moment when anger, pride, and defensiveness nearly pushed me toward ending my marriage. I was convinced I was right—but God challenged me to look beyond being right and consider how I was responding.

We’ll talk about pride in relationships, humility in marriage, emotional intimacy, communication, conflict, defensiveness, and healthy apologies—and how choosing humility can create space for healing and connection.

You’ll learn how to: • Stop trying to win every argument • Recognize defensiveness and emotional flooding • Apologize without adding “but” • Take responsibility for your part without taking responsibility for someone else's • Express vulnerability instead of blame and criticism • Set healthy boundaries while pursuing reconciliation • Choose connection over the need to prove your point

Most importantly, we’ll explore what it looks like to invite God into our conflicts and love our partners with humility, grace, and wisdom.

Because sometimes the goal isn't to prove that you're right. It's to protect the relationship you're trying to build.

  • The Hidden Enemy of Intimacy: When Pride Gets in the Way of Love
    Sep 8 2026

What if the argument isn’t the real problem?

What if what’s keeping you and your partner from reconnecting is the need to be right, the fear of being vulnerable, or the pride that keeps you from making the first move?

In this episode of Peace in the Storm, we’re taking an honest look at how pride can quietly get in the way of love, emotional intimacy, and connection.

Pride doesn’t always look like arrogance. Sometimes it sounds like, “I’m fine,” when you’re actually hurt. Sometimes it looks like refusing to apologize first, shutting down, becoming defensive, withholding affection, keeping score, or expecting your partner to know what you need without actually telling them.

And sometimes what looks like pride is really self-protection.

We’ll explore how defensiveness, shame, fear of rejection, and emotional walls can create a cycle where one person pushes harder while the other withdraws—leaving both people feeling unheard, misunderstood, and disconnected.

In this episode, we’ll talk about:

    • How pride can quietly damage intimacy • Why defensiveness often makes conflict worse • The difference between taking a healthy pause and emotionally withdrawing • The “push–withdraw” cycle that keeps couples stuck • Why vulnerability is essential for emotional intimacy • How humility can create emotional safety • How to take responsibility without becoming a doormat • Why you don’t have to wait for your partner to make the first move • What Scripture teaches us about pride, humility, and grace • How to choose connection over winning an argument

For Christians, this conversation also invites us to look at our relationships through the lens of Scripture.

Proverbs 16:18 reminds us that pride can lead to destruction, while James 4:6 reminds us that God gives grace to the humble.

So rather than asking, “Does my partner have a pride problem?”

    Maybe the better question is:

“Is pride getting in the way of intimacy in my relationship?”

The next time you find yourself in conflict, ask yourself:

Am I protecting my heart, my ego, my image, or my need to be right—or am I protecting the relationship?

Because you don’t have to win every argument.

Sometimes the greatest victory is finding your way back to each other and rebuilding the intimacy that was lost.

🙏 This episode closes with a prayer for humility, vulnerability, healing, reconciliation, and renewed connection.

If this episode speaks to you, share it with someone who may need the reminder that being connected can be more important than being right.
