It's human to try to avoid it but it also known that it's impossible to never go through it. We all suffer in one way or another; the loss of a loved one, personal sickness, the lack of something we need or desire in our lives. In those moments we are prone to question God's love, presence, or even existence; but through faith and experience we know those moments may be the ones when God is actually closest.
