Skimming past the genealogy at the start of Matthew is easy to do, but take time to pause – because it might be one of the strongest statements in the whole New Testament. Matthew is not filling space with genealogy, he is planting a flag: Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham, and God. Keeps. Every. Promise.

We sit with Mary’s moment in Luke 1 and imagine what it costs to say "yes" without knowing how the story will end, then we move to Joseph in Matthew 1 and the quiet courage it takes to obey when your plans fall apart. We land in Bethlehem, then zoom out with the Gospel of John.

If you’re a mom trying to follow Jesus in the middle of laundry, marriage stress, carpool lines, aging parents, and unanswered questions, this is Bible message that meets you in real life.

Miriam only gets two verses in Exodus 15, but one tiny detail hits like a thunderclap - it's up to you to tune in and find out what that is!

We walk through the backstory of Israel’s escape from Egypt, then slow down to notice what Miriam’s “packed praise” reveals about faith, gratitude, and spiritual readiness. I get honest about how easy it is to let circumstances feel bigger than God. This is practical Bible teaching you can actually live.

In this episode, I’m sharing a simple way to create your own “trusty tambourine” and place it somewhere visible as a cue to worship while you wait. Write words like faith, hope, joy, and peace on it, add ribbon if you want, and use it as a tool to shift the energy in your home when things get chaotic. Links are below for all the supplies and one of my favorite worship songs on this side of Heaven!

If this encouraged you, subscribe so you don’t miss the New Testament turn, share the link with a friend who needs a lift, and leave a review so more women can find the show. What word would you write on your tambourine first?

  • #51: What If the Waiting is Where God Does His Best Work?
    Oct 6 2026

Send me a text – I always love hearing from you! ✨

Four hundred-ish years is a long time to hear nothing and still believe God is at work. That silent gap between Malachi and Matthew isn’t just a Bible fact, it’s a mirror for anyone who has prayed, waited, and wondered if heaven is quiet on purpose.

We step back into the Old Testament timeline and follow the story from Israel’s rescue to the chaotic cycle of Judges, where people wander, life breaks, and God keeps rescuing anyway. Then we talk kings: why Israel demanded one, why Saul looked right but led wrong, and the moment God flips our values on their head with 1 Samuel 16:7.

From David and the Davidic Covenant to the kingdom’s division and exile, we sit in the tension of promises that feel delayed. The prophets keep calling God’s people back, reminding them to wait, to hold on, and to trust that another King is coming. Finally, we turn the page to Matthew 1:1 and feel the mic drop connection: Jesus the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham. The story was never lost, and neither are you.

If you’re in a season of Christian waiting, spiritual uncertainty, or parenting overwhelm, press play and let this reshape how you read your life. Subscribe, share with a friend who needs hope, and leave a review so more listeners can find Life Out Loud.
