There are moments as moms when we don't feel safe or supported to be transparent about how we think or what we need. We spend a lot of time remembering others while forgetting ourselves in the process. Somehow, this taught behavior is the black woman's cape. We can do it all and drown ourselves in the process, is the lesson that's passed down to us, melanated women. If you can't do it all, then you're considered weak. This was the ideology given to me, and I was miserable honoring it. This young lady was brave enough to talk to people on social media and risk being judged for expressing her true emotions.
