  • Cameras Everywhere, Ketchup Nowhere | Leave It Out Ep11
    Nov 6 2026

Leave It Out, Episode 11. Nick Rose, solo. Recorded Friday 6 November 2026 (Europe/London).

Cameras first, rules later? Police facial recognition is expanding, and shops are getting a new legal code. Then: Andy Burnham’s EU reset, what is actually happening with ketchup sachets, the Russell Brand verdict and today’s Met comments, Sir Mark Rowley’s warning that policing is “heading for failure”, and a quick US midterms wrap.

Ketchup fact check: there is NO Great Britain ban. A consultation is planned. The EU ban starts in 2030 and applies in Northern Ireland under the Windsor Framework.

Content warning: factual discussion of rape and sexual assault. Brand was convicted on Thursday 5 November, refused bail and remanded in custody; sentencing is due Monday 9 November. Separate investigations are not findings of guilt. Do not identify, speculate about or hint at complainants in the comments.

Daily UK news and commentary. Sharp, daft, very British. The court story is treated seriously, without jokes.

    Nov 4 2026

Leave It Out, Episode 9. Nick Rose, solo. Recorded Wednesday 4 November 2026.

America's biggest political earthquake in a generation. Democrats take the House and the Senate: seven Senate seats flipped, including Texas, Kansas and South Carolina. Governors flipped in Texas, Georgia, Ohio, Iowa and Nevada. Elon Musk put more than $200 million into Texas and lost. Trump says "I don't view it as a hit on me" and posts a VETO hat. After that: what it did to the money (dollar down, gold above $4,000, BAE down 5.2%), what it means for Britain, Europe, NATO, Ukraine and China, and quick ones from home: the King in Antigua, the supermarket fridge hack and new cancer blood tests in GP surgeries.

Daily UK news and comedy. Sharp, daft, very British. Leave it out.

  • Ep 5: Halloween Police, Trump's 'You Look Like Hell' and Wolverine Claws
    Oct 30 2026

Leave It Out — Episode 5. Nick Rose, solo. Recorded Friday 30 October 2026.

Happy Halloween eve — and the police have issued guidance. Trick or treaters are warned some residents may be "fighting demons of their own". Peak Britain. Trump tells a reporter who asks if he's sick of travelling to "put yourself in shape, you look like hell". Dorking Wanderers boss Marc White swears 38 times at half-time, flips a table and gets a 3–3. A Forest of Dean scientist who sleeps with bedbugs on purpose ("millions" of bites). The Budget morning after: a £28bn hole and welfare cuts that are happening and also aren't. TSA seize Wolverine claws at Seattle airport. And Samba the capybara is still on the run.

Daily UK news and comedy. Sharp, daft, very British. Leave it out.

  • Follow the Money Ep1: Your Mortgage Is Holding Up the World
    Oct 30 2026
Your mortgage isn't just between you and the bank. In the first Follow the Money, Nick Rose follows the debt: why government debt is only ever rolled over, what a bond or gilt really is, how mortgages became someone else's IOU, and how the bond market saw off a Prime Minister in 49 days. Simon Dixon's ideas are paraphrased and attributed as his opinion. Not financial advice — speak to a regulated adviser or broker.
