Set near Galway, Landleaguers follows the journey of young Florian Jones, who has recently embraced Catholicism only to witness the shocking devastation of his English fathers land at the hands of the Catholic Landleaguers. As the Irish Land War ignites, tensions rise with the boycott of affluent landowners and a harrowing series of revenge killings. This poignant tale delves into the lives of Florian, his father, his two captivating sisters, his older brother Frank, and Franks cherished Rachel, an American singer gracing the London stage alongside her fiery father. It paints a vivid picture of a community grappling with disintegration and the arduous path to restoration in one Irish county. The Landleaguers, Anthony Trollopes final work, though left unfinished at his passing in 1882, offers a heartfelt and engaging narrative that leaves readers with a sense of clarity regarding the fate of its characters. - Summary by AngieCopyright Nature and Animals Mondiale Spiritualità
