Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.
Colorado Mammoth head coach Pat Coyle joins Andy Lindahl on Lacrosse Colorado to look ahead to the new NLL season and break down why he believes the Mammoth are entering the year as a deeper, more dangerous team.
Coyle also revisits the controversial ending to last season’s playoff run and explains why the league acknowledging the mistake still didn’t completely settle things for him.
Then the conversation turns to what’s ahead.
One of the biggest additions isn’t really an addition at all: Eli McLaughlin is back. Coyle talks about what McLaughlin brings to an offense that already includes Andrew Kew, Jack Hannah, Will Malcom, Dylan McIntosh and a growing group of young players competing for time.
Andy and Coyle also discuss the Mammoth’s defensive depth, additions like Alex Pace and Cole Teipel, what they want to see from Matthew Pelto in year two, and the challenges of building a roster in an NLL that became even more competitive after the dispersal draft.
Plus, Coyle explains how Colorado evaluates box lacrosse talent, why certain Canadian lacrosse hotbeds continue producing NLL players, and why even elite field players can have trouble making the transition to the indoor game.
