  • Irelands Cannabis Problem, Explained
    Oct 19 2026

The Irish Model examines Ireland’s cannabis laws through public health research, criminal justice, regulation and international evidence.

Cannabis remains prohibited in Ireland under the Misuse of Drugs Act, yet use is widespread, possession cases continue to enter the criminal justice system, and new semi-synthetic cannabinoids such as HHC have appeared in the gap between prohibition and regulation.

This documentary looks at Ireland’s current approach alongside evidence from Canada, Europe and the United States: decriminalisation, legalisation, black-market displacement, youth use, psychosis risk, product testing, THC potency, medical cannabis, agriculture, hemp and the economics of a regulated market.

  • The River Flows: Irish Environmental Disasters
    Oct 13 2026

The River Flows is an investigative documentary exploring the decline of Ireland’s rivers and asking a surprisingly difficult question: who is actually responsible for making them better?

From the Shannon and Blackwater to the River Bride in Cork, the film follows the water through hydroelectric dams, flood schemes, agriculture, pollution and a maze of state agencies. Along the way, it uncovers mass fish kills, disappearing salmon, critically endangered eels, polluted estuaries and solutions that already exist.

    We investigate:
    – The collapse of Ireland’s pristine river sites
    – The largest recorded fish kill in the history of the State
    – Hydroelectric dams and the critically endangered European eel
    – Controversial plan to bury more of the River Bride
    – Nitrogen, phosphorus and PFAS entering our water system
    – How diverse grasslands could dramatically reduce nitrate pollution
    – The agencies responsible for Ireland’s rivers and the gaps between them

  • Human Voices: Questions About Life
    Oct 6 2026

Who started it? Are we going to make it? Where are we going to put it? And who’s going to clean it up?

Human Voices brings together people from across modern Ireland for a series of simple questions with surprisingly complicated answers. From climate change, consumerism and the future of the planet to community, mental health, nature, art, play, capitalism and what actually makes a good life, the conversations move between the serious, the philosophical and the absurd.

Featuring artists, musicians, farmers, environmentalists, community builders and ordinary people with very different perspectives, this is less about finding the right answer than hearing what happens when people are given the space to think out loud.

A film about life, waste, nature, community, the planet and whether any of us really know what we’re doing.

  • Irelands Vanishing Pubs
    Sep 29 2026

Over the last 20 years, more than 2,100 Irish pubs have closed, changing villages, towns and communities across Ireland. In this documentary, I travel to Bantry, County Cork, to tell the story of one local pub and ask a bigger question:

What happens when the heart of an Irish community disappears?

From rising costs and changing social habits to demographics, insurance, regulation and rural decline, this film explores why traditional Irish pubs are closing at an unprecedented rate—and what that means for the future of rural Ireland.

The Irish pub has always been far more than somewhere to have a pint. It has been a meeting place, a music venue, a community centre and, in many towns, the last remaining social space. As closures continue across the country, we’re left asking whether this is simply inevitable change or something worth fighting for.

  • The Island Syndrome
    Jun 29 2026

The Island Syndrome is a documentary that breaks down the three hidden mechanisms driving up the cost of everything in Ireland. Whether you’re interested in economics, energy policy, Irish politics, renewable energy, or simply want to understand why the cost of living keeps rising, this documentary explains the system in plain English.

Along the way, we’ll examine data centres, interconnectors, hydrogen storage, renewable energy policy, carbon taxes, electricity market reform, and the unique challenges of running an energy system on an island at the edge of Europe.

    Marginal Pricing Explained
Why electricity generated by cheap wind farms can still be sold at expensive gas-fired prices. The strange market mechanism that determines what every generator gets paid.

    Curtailment Payments Explained
Ireland is paying hundreds of millions of euro every year to switch wind turbines off. We examine how curtailment works, why renewable energy is being wasted, and who ultimately pays the bill.

    Capacity Payments Explained
Why Ireland spends billions guaranteeing backup power stations that may only operate for a handful of days each year. The hidden costs built into the electricity system.

  • Interview With The Mayor | A Vision For Limerick
    May 23 2026

Limerick is one of Ireland's most fascinating cities, and one of its most misunderstood. Once synonymous with knife crime and negative headlines, it has undergone a remarkable transformation. Billions invested in health, education, housing and the docklands have brought it level with Cork, Galway and Waterford. But Limerick didn't stop there.

In 2024 Limerick became home to Ireland's first and only directly elected Mayor, John Moran. A person with a plan, a mandate, and a timeframe in which to deliver it. For the first time in Irish history, people voted not for a party or a set of beliefs, but for a vision.

In this episode we explore what that vision looks like on the ground. From festoon lights on the Shannon to a proposed 70 acre riverside park. From the Marmot City framework tackling generational deprivation to a polycentric city model that could reshape how Limerick grows for decades to come.

  • Inside The Asylum
    May 11 2026

In 1956, Ireland had the highest rate of psychiatric hospitalisation in the world.

Not because Ireland suffered some unique epidemic of insanity, but because institutions had become deeply embedded within the social fabric of the State itself.

INSIDE THE ASYLUM explores the rise of Ireland’s vast asylum system through the story of places like the Cork District Lunatic Asylum, once one of the largest psychiatric institutions in Europe.

The documentary examines the intersection of mental health, poverty, shame, religion, trauma and social control in post-independence Ireland, asking what the long-term psychological consequences of institutionalisation may still be today

  • The Price Of Power: Ireland's Energy Crisis
    Apr 6 2026

    What’s driving Ireland’s energy crisis isn’t bad luck… it’s design.

The Price Of Power is a ground-level investigation into how Ireland became one of the most expensive places in Europe to keep the lights on. From wind curtailment to gas dependency, from battery rollouts to broken planning, this is a system under strain and few seem willing to confront it.

Through on-site reporting, expert voices, public records, and first-hand accounts, this film traces the threads behind rising costs, fragile infrastructure, and decisions that are reshaping the country’s future.

    We investigate:
    – Over €100 million paid for wind energy the grid could not use
    – Why more renewables hasn’t meant cheaper electricity
    – Battery storage systems being deployed ahead of regulation
    – Ireland’s growing dependence on gas as Corrib Gas Field nears depletion
    – The absence of gas storage after the closure of Kinsale Head Gas Field
    – A planning system where legal challenges are fought between citizens and the state
    – Data centres driving demand while building their own power supply
    – The shift toward offshore wind under the state’s long-term strategy

    This isn’t just about energy.
It’s about control who has it, who doesn’t, and who pays the price.
