We went to watch Round of 32 at PPA Nationals in Cary and came home drenched, cooked, and half heat exhausted. The umbrellas were supposed to save us. They had other plans. Real talk on watching the pros live, a teenage player who might be the future of this sport, and why the kids might be sitting the next one out. "Hey, I'm Chad, 3.8." That's a real thing someone said to a stranger at open play, and it broke something in us. This episode started there and did not stop. Two listener submitted stories, an extra paddle nobody was supposed to notice, a group chat name that got forwarded to the wrong thread, and one guy who's about to have a very bad day in front of fifty people. Amanda even breaks out actual science to explain why some people never see it coming. See you on the court!

Eddie put this one together solo and made Amanda go in completely blind, because you can't fake a real reaction to hearing a paddle knock a stranger's wig clean off mid rally. This episode is a full lineup of listener submitted chaos: a round robin wig reveal nobody saw coming, a two week rookie whose yips send a serve straight into Grandma Judy's ribs, an overhead that launches a sweat soaked paddle clean over the fence and into a parking lot, and a guy who answers a call from his boss mid match and just shoves the phone in his back pocket to keep playing.

Is a $300+ paddle worth it? One listener is eight months in and dying to splurge even though they can't feel the difference yet, while another is spiraling because her boyfriend upgraded to a $300 paddle and told her she doesn't need one. Amanda and Eddie break down what you're really paying for. Plus: Eddie's $20 Walmart paddle winning streak and Amanda's petty advice for a gatekeeping boyfriend. See you on the court!

We're back, baby — and we brought a full Q&A to make up for the time away. After a few weeks off for a new job, a Spongebob-themed bachelorette weekend where Amanda showed up as Patrick Star, and Eddie hunting down pickleball courts in the mountains of Maggie Valley during a bachelor party, we finally sat back down to answer your questions. This week you asked us whether the on-court arguments are real or just content for the show, what we're each genuinely working on in our game right now, and how we handle the skill gap between us without it turning into a thing — and we actually answered all of it. Plus: Eddie played pickleball in Puerto Rico and Palm Beach and will find a court anywhere on earth, Amanda looked like a horse trying to learn the two-handed backhand drive, and buying more gear will not make you better (but we both keep doing it anyway). See you on the court!

Last week was all hate. This week Amanda and Eddie flip it and talk about everything that actually keeps them coming back to the court. Amanda says it's the supportive community, the kind where people genuinely hype each other up even on a shot against them. Eddie agrees, right up until someone takes a casual rec game way too seriously. Plus the great call-your-own-ball-out debate and where it gets surprisingly gray, Amanda's story about finally working up the nerve to play solo for the first time, and Eddie's new least favorite nickname on the court. See you on the court!
