This week’s Penguins episode starts with something much bigger than hockey.

Ben Kindel experienced a medical episode aboard the team plane returning from Salt Lake City. The flight turned around, an ambulance met the plane, and Kindel was taken to the University of Utah Hospital. The team reported that he was conscious, alert, and stable. The exact cause has not been confirmed, and I’ll be keeping the focus on the information the team has actually shared.

Kindel is only 18, already making an impact in Pittsburgh, and has a remarkable story of how he went from being questioned as the 11th overall pick to earning his place in the NHL.
