On October 23, 1981, 17-year-old Kurt Sova disappeared after attending a Halloween party in Newburgh Heights, Ohio. Five days later, his body was discovered in a nearby ravine.

Kurt had no obvious fatal injuries, and the medical examiner couldn't establish exactly what killed him. His missing days, a missing shoe, conflicting accounts, and serious questions about the original investigation would haunt his family for decades.

Despite renewed investigative efforts, the circumstances surrounding Kurt's death remain unresolved.

Kurt was more than an unsolved mystery. He was a 17-year-old boy who deserved to come home.

If you have information about Kurt Sova's case, contact the Newburgh Heights Police Department at 216-641-5545.

In just over a year, the Staudte family went from six people to three.

First, Mark Staudte suddenly became gravely ill and died. Five months later, his son Shaun developed eerily similar symptoms and died. Then, another daughter, Sarah, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition with multiple organ failure.

At first, it looked like an unimaginable string of medical tragedies.

Then an anonymous tip sent investigators back to the beginning.

What they uncovered was a shocking plan involving antifreeze, a mother and daughter, and a family whose illnesses had never been what they appeared to be.

And then detectives found a journal.

Join us as we dig into the Staudte family murders, the investigation that finally exposed the truth, and the daughter who survived what killed her father and brother.
