    Many people have different aspects and opinions on who God is to them. The Muslims believe Allah is God, the Hindus believe Brahman or the Infinite is God, the Buddhist don’t believe in any god as they believe in divine beings called devas as there are many gods. They believe that the concept of God originated out of fear. But the Bible clearly points to a Creator of this universe and everything within the universe such as the world He created. All aspects of life from four legged creatures to life in the seas the Bible tells us that God created.

    Throughout the book of Amos, we see that God is using Amos as a messenger to call the nation of Israel to awaken to her responsibility and accountability for the national sins that she had committed against God. The Israelites saw all the goodness of God and yet they formed a calf of gold and proclaimed it to be their god. How much are we like the Israelites? How many times in our own lives we have tasted the goodness of God and yet we turned a blind eye and continue to walk in the ways of the world?

Across the world, we see many Jews, been targeted by those who have a hatred for Jews and carrying out attacks where in some cases, members of the Jewish community are killed. The hatred of Israel appears to be on the rise among the hearts of many here in the United States. What they don’t understand is that Israel was chosen by God to be a nation that was separated unto God, and to be a light until the Gentiles in the world. However, despite what Israel did in rejecting Christ as the Messiah, Israel and her people are still a nation that is favored and chosen by God and will always be at the forefront of prophecy when Christians are anticipating the return of Christ.

    As the Church, we are called to be set apart, not stirred up. We are To be holy, not hostile, and we are to be intercessors, not instigators.

    Let us be known not for how loud we speak to men—but for how often we speak to God.

    “Prayer is not weakness. It is the highest form of obedience and the strongest spiritual weapon God has given His people.”

    May we be a people who keep our knees bent, our mouths guarded, and our hearts aligned with the Word of God.
