Our Mission
It's Time To Speak Up | Season 1: The Road Back To You
Why does It's Time To Speak Up exist?
Because abuse thrives in silence. Because too many survivors have been convinced that what they're experiencing isn't really abuse. And because recognizing what's happening is only the beginning.
I'm Dawna. I'm a survivor, an author, and someone who knows firsthand what it means to lose yourself while trying to survive someone else.
I created It's Time To Speak Up because I believe survivors deserve more than being told to "just leave."
They deserve information. They deserve practical tools. They deserve someone who understands that leaving isn't always as simple as packing a bag and walking out the door.
And they deserve to know they're not alone.
Our mission is simple: Break the silence. Help survivors recognize abuse. Make safety information and practical resources accessible. And help people find their way back to themselves.
This isn't about telling you what you should have done.
It's about helping you understand what you can do next.
One clean, sneaky step at a time.

💜 Help Us Reach More Survivors
Not everyone who needs these resources can safely purchase them. Some survivors don't have access to their own money. Others can't risk having an obviously abuse-related book in their home.
Your support helps us develop and share practical resources, including discreet options for people who need them.
