  • New Technology, New Problems: Is It Worth It? (w. David)
    Oct 18 2026

Welcome to It's Gonna Be Fine, the podcast where we bring you the stories and trends you may have missed, and unpack what's really going on.

This week, Matti and David (America’s favorite brother-in-law) unpack the trade-offs of new technology, from smart glasses that can record strangers to AI agents that can manage our lives and cameras that seem to be everywhere. Technology keeps advancing, but are we always better off because of it?

From privacy concerns and the potential for AI to go too far to whether we really need every new innovation, they explore what happens when the things we build to make life easier create entirely new problems.

The conversation then turns to celebrities and whether they have the same right to privacy as everyone else. When someone chooses a life in the public eye, does that change what the rest of us are entitled to see — or is there a line we shouldn’t cross, no matter who someone is? And Matti does his best to convince David that some actors are in it for the art, and not the fame.

Along the way, they discuss the ethics of filming strangers, the internet’s appetite for public shaming, and why having the right to record someone doesn’t necessarily make it the right thing to do.

  • You Know Best
    Oct 4 2026

Welcome to It's Gonna Be Fine, the podcast where we highlight current topics and trends you may have missed, cut through the noise, and dig deeper to understand what's really going on.

This week, what if the thing you keep second-guessing is actually your intuition trying to tell you something? Matti explores why it can be so difficult to trust ourselves, and why we’re so quick to look outside ourselves for the “right” answer. From experts and algorithms to social expectations, self-improvement culture, and endless advice, there’s no shortage of voices telling us how we should live.

Matti shares some personal experiences with career decisions, overthinking, and the search for someone — or something — to tell him what to do. Along the way, he looks at what research says about intuition, the surprising potential downsides of meditation (something your intuition may have said is not for you, but society said it was), and the case for knowing when it’s time to quit.

  • The World Changed. Did College?
    Sep 27 2026

Welcome to It's Gonna Be Fine, the podcast where we highlight current topics and trends you may have missed, cut through the noise, and dig deeper to understand what's really going on.

This week, Matti takes a closer look at the changing landscape of higher education: the rising cost of college, declining enrollment, shifting birth rates, international students, online education, and the growing question of whether a traditional four-year degree still delivers enough value to justify the price.

And it’s not as simple as “college is too expensive.” What are we actually paying for? Is it the education, the degree, the career opportunities, the network, or the college experience itself? And if schools lower their prices, can they still provide the quality and experience students expect?

Add an increasingly unpredictable job market and rapidly changing technology to the mix, and the old assumptions about higher education start looking a little shaky.

So when it comes to college… is the math still mathing?

  • Are We Still Supposed to Act Professional at Work? (w. Cindy)
    Sep 20 2026

Welcome to It's Gonna Be Fine, the podcast where we highlight current topics and trends you may have missed, cut through the noise, and dig deeper to understand what's really going on.

This week, it's all about the workplace. From helicopter parents calling recruiters on behalf of their adult children to workplace hookups, office shorts, Crocs, Zoom pants, and increasingly honest out-of-office messages, the rules at work seem to be changing.

Matti and Cindy unpack what’s behind those changes — and whether some workplace norms are outdated, some are worth keeping, and some were maybe never that important to begin with. Along the way, they get into generational differences, authenticity, boundaries, privacy, and the strange ways we decide what is — and isn’t — appropriate at work.

And obviously, we do a quick check-in on where Cindy's at with The Pitt (a "workplace" in and of itself!).

  • First Social Media, Then Content Creation… What’s Next?
    Sep 13 2026

Welcome to It's Gonna Be Fine, the podcast where we highlight current topics and trends you may have missed, cut through the noise, and dig deeper to understand what's really going on.

In this episode, Matti explores how social media evolved into content creation, and what that shift has done to the way we compete for attention. Going viral used to be the exception; now, it can feel like the expectation. As feeds get more crowded and attention gets harder to capture, content is getting bigger, bolder, and much more extreme.

Over the course of the episode, we dive into the growing “content arms race,” why Arizona State University now offers a degree in content creation, and what the lawsuits against Meta tell us about the business of keeping people on these platforms — particularly kids and teenagers. Plus, we’ll take a closer look at Meta’s recent settlement and the absolutely infuriating way the company chose to talk about it afterward.

And finally, to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11, the conversation turns to grief, trauma, and remembrance; how important it is to let people process trauma in their own way without judgment; and whether we've lost some of the compassion we once had for the people directly affected by that day. Never Forget 💙

  • What Happens When We Take Accountability?
    Sep 6 2026

Accountability is one of those words we throw around constantly. We want our leaders to be accountable. Our institutions. Other people. But what does accountability actually look like when we start examining it in the real world?

In this episode, Matti follows that question across a number of trending topics, including the controversy surrounding ICE and questions of government oversight; workers who feel trapped in jobs because of health insurance; and families confronting the increasingly staggering price of a college education.

So... who is responsible for fixing what isn’t working? And what happens when someone finally says, enough?

  • What Do Kids Really Need From Us? - Part 2 (feat. Ethan Weiss, MS, LCSW)
    Aug 30 2026

If you missed Part 1, check out Episode 26, and then return for Part 2!

In Part 2, Matti and Ethan's conversation focuses on what parenting actually requires - and why the answer may have more to do with support and community than deciding who is naturally “good” at being a parent.

They discuss the idea of the “good enough parent,” why parents don’t need to respond perfectly to every situation, and how mistakes and repairs can actually strengthen relationships.
