Falling down can feel personal, like proof you are behind or disqualified. We open with Proverbs 24:16 and sit with its blunt comfort: the righteous fall and still rise again. That promise reframes setbacks as a chapter, not a verdict, and it gives language for anyone who keeps circling back to the same struggle and wonders if God is tired of them.

We also talk about darkness, not as something to deny, but as a place where clarity can finally show up. “Without darkness, we never see the stars” becomes a window into spiritual growth, patience, and the kind of quiet strength that shows up when you stop forcing outcomes. We pray for help staying still, trusting that God clears a path no one can take away, and letting go of the fear that says you have to do everything on your own.

From there, we move into release and surrender. We ask God to lift what is far too much to carry, to help us loosen our grip on people or patterns that are not good for us, and to guide our free will so we do not become our own worst enemy. With 2 Timothy 1:7, we push back on anxiety and spiritual intimidation with power, love, and a sound mind. With Jeremiah 1:5, we remember calling and identity: some of us are set apart, and that rarity is not a flaw, it is purpose.

If you need a short, grounded Christian prayer for resilience, fear, and direction, listen through to the closing night prayer, then share this with someone who needs rest. Subscribe, leave a review, and tell us what you’re trusting God to carry for you.

  • Save Me (Spoken Word): Episode 407

Feeling invisible can mess with your faith, your sense of self, and your ability to trust anyone, including God. We start with that raw reality: chasing what we thought we wanted, ending up wounded, and realizing how easily pain can make us feel used, empty, and unreal. Then we do something simple but brave, we pray. Not a polished prayer, but an honest one that says, “I’m hurting,” “read my tears,” “I don’t want to be lost,” and “rescue me.”

From there, we anchor the heart in Scripture that speaks directly to anxiety, heartbreak, and spiritual exhaustion. We read Psalm 34 on God hearing our cries and drawing near to the brokenhearted, Romans 10:13 on calling on the Lord to be saved, and Isaiah 12:2 on choosing trust over fear because God becomes our strength and song. If you’ve been craving something real, these verses bring clarity and calm without pretending life is easy.

We also get crystal clear on the gospel: salvation by grace is not something you earn or carry alone. Ephesians 2:8 and Titus 3:5 point to mercy, renewal, and God’s gift, while Acts 4:12 reminds us why Jesus matters so much, because He is the only way to God and the Savior we truly need. If you’re ready to stop performing and start resting, come listen, lay it down at His feet, and then share this with someone who needs hope. • Echoes of an Exhausted Heart (Spoken Word): Episode 406
    Sep 4 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

Survival mode can feel normal until you realize you’ve been living with an exhausted heart for far too long. We put words to that ache and turn it into a simple, honest prayer: God, I’m out of tune and I need You to bring me back into harmony.

We also sit with the tension many people avoid saying out loud. Natural disasters can look terrifying and strangely beautiful at the same time, raising hard questions about wrath, warning, and prophecy. When the world feels loud, we admit how easy it is to “trust what’s wrong” and how hard it can be to believe what’s right, then we practice a different kind of focus: not just what we can see, but what God is doing spiritually beneath the surface.

Scripture becomes the backbone of the episode, from Exodus 15’s challenge to stop only crying out and start moving forward, to Galatians 5:1’s clear promise that Christ sets us free. We talk about the real chains people carry, sin, fear, anxiety, toxicity, and the sense of being trapped even after hearing about grace, and we end with surrender, gratitude, and a decision to pick up the cross with trust.

If you need Christian encouragement, a reset for your faith, or a short moment of peace and direction, press play now, then subscribe, share with a friend who feels overwhelmed, and leave a review that tells us what you’re choosing to release.

  • One Split-Second Choice Can Change Everything, with John Petrelli :Episode 405
    Aug 23 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

He goes from “tingly toes” at 4 a.m. to a wheelchair in hours, then hears a doctor explain he may be facing Guillain-Barre syndrome and a fast-moving paralysis that can climb to the heart and lungs. That is the moment our guest, John Petrelli, has to decide what kind of mind he is going to bring into the ICU when his body is no longer available as his identity.

We talk through John’s full arc, starting with the mistake he made at 18 that landed him in a jail cell waiting to find out if he would be charged with manslaughter, and how shame, anger, dyslexia, and a humiliating classroom moment shaped his choices. From there, he explains the deliberate rebuild: leaving his environment, becoming a fitness coach, and eventually training at a high level while learning that service and problem solving unlock opportunity.

Then we go deep on his Guillain-Barre syndrome recovery story and the layered resilience tools he leans on alongside medical treatment like IVIG: music to stay out of a dark place, prayer, breathwork, visualization, and nutrition support with help from his wife, a functional nutritionist. We also unpack what “Built From Failure” really means, how he turns adversity into books and keynote speaking, and why gratitude is not fluff, it is a practice that can carry you through rehab one small win at a time.

If you want a real conversation about mindset, resilience, failure, and healing, listen through and share it with someone who needs hope today. Subscribe, leave a review, and tell us what part of John’s story hit you hardest.

    About John:

His engaging, story-driven presentations inspire audiences to embrace challenges, overcome adversity, and turn setbacks into opportunities for growth.

  • Emotional Scars and the Hidden Traps of Toxic Love, with Nicole Kranz: Episode 404
    Aug 23 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

The “nice” part of a toxic relationship can be the most dangerous part, because it teaches you to doubt your gut. Robin Black sits down with author Nicole Krantz to unpack emotional scars, manipulation, and the slow slide from comfort into control, using the unforgettable metaphor that inspired her book This Is Bullshit, Not A Love Story. We dig into why people stay, why “just leave” is the wrong question, and how love bombing and loyalty can make the truth feel impossible to face.

Nicole shares her lived experience with narcissistic abuse, isolation, and the kind of chronic stress that shows up in the body, not just the mind. We talk boundaries in real terms: the strength of self-respect, the clarity that comes from saying no, and how a person’s reaction to your limits tells you everything. We also explore why healthy conflict matters, how avoidance can become its own form of harm, and how rebuilding trust takes time and gentleness.

We connect the dots between trauma, PTSD, and recovery, including therapy, listening to your instincts, and body-based healing that supports the nervous system. If you’re searching for toxic relationship recovery, signs of manipulation, help after emotional abuse, or a grounded conversation about healing, this one is for you. Subscribe for more honest healing talks, share this with someone who needs it, and leave a review with the boundary you’re practicing next.

  • How Parents Shape Kids’ Stress and Health, with Dr. Lumi Frundi: Episode 403
    Aug 23 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

Your kid isn’t “being dramatic” and they aren’t always “being defiant.” Sometimes what you’re seeing is anxiety looking for safety and it can show up as picky eating, shutdown teens, or constant tension at home. We sit down with Dr. Lumi Frundi, a pediatrician and integrative medicine provider, to talk about how stress shapes kids’ behavior and health, and why connection is one of the most practical tools parents have.

We get specific about food: why processed foods and busy schedules push families into a cycle of quick fixes, and how simple meal planning and batch cooking can make healthy eating habits realistic again. Dr. Frundi also explains a surprising root of picky eating: fear. A gagging moment, an allergic reaction a child can’t describe, or sensory sensitivity can turn “new food” into a threat, and pressure at the table can make that anxiety grow.

From COVID stress to cyberbullying to the constant pull of screens, we talk about why kids want to feel seen and how to rebuild trust with intentional rituals like screen-free dinners, brief check-ins, and patient consistency. Dr. Frundi shares the reminder that calm is contagious, kids co-regulate with us, and sometimes the best parenting move is to regulate ourselves first. We also touch on “food as medicine,” including cinnamon and blood sugar, plus her children’s book The Worry Garden, Planting Seeds of Calm and where to find her online at drloommd.com and on YouTube (Kids Nutrition and Healthy Habits).

  • I Am That Woman (Spoken Word): Episode 402
    Aug 7 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

The “queen” on a chessboard can move in every direction, and that’s the point: so many women spend their lives thinking through A to Z while still holding everyone else together. We share a raw declaration of womanhood that’s equal parts strength and vulnerability, from claiming identity out loud to admitting how heavy the daily load can be when you’re constantly needed.

Motherhood sits at the center of the story, not as a highlight reel but as real life: working multiple jobs, then coming home to clock in again. We talk about the second shift and the emotional labor that follows, being the counselor, the teacher, the mediator, the friend, and sometimes the “enemy,” while still trying to be the healer who offers comfort and dries every tear. If you’ve ever felt like it never stops, you’ll hear your reality reflected back with respect.

Faith and resilience guide the arc, especially when we speak on working in a male-dominated industry and the sting of feeling unseen. The message is clear and grounded in Christian encouragement: God’s will outweighs skill, purpose can’t be taken, and grace is not weakness. We close by rejecting society’s image-based standards and choosing a deeper identity, the kind of self-worth that thrives because it’s rooted in God rather than worldly validation. If this resonates, follow the show, share this with a woman who needs it, and leave a review so more listeners can find this message.

  • What If Your Pain Was Never a Problem to Fix? with Jacqueline Boylan: Episode 401
    Aug 5 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

A child can survive almost anything with one steady, loving adult, but what happens when grief gets punished instead of comforted? I’m Robin Black, and I sit down with registered nurse and author Jacqueline Boland to talk about the two worlds she grew up in: the safety of her great-grandmother’s love, and the chaos of addiction, loss, and a family dynamic that taught her to feel guilty for being sad.

Jacqueline shares the story of losing her mother at seven and her father soon after, then spending years trying to earn warmth from a relative who responded to her grief with anger and emotional abuse. We get honest about what that does to a kid’s self-concept, why you can still love someone who hurts you, and how a single conversation can flip your perspective into shame and self-blame. When Jacqueline finally wrote a letter asking to be seen, the silence that followed pushed her into a mental health crisis and made therapy non-negotiable.

From there, we talk about what real healing looks like: naming emotional invalidation, breaking rumination loops, and learning self-care when caretaking has been your whole identity. Jacqueline explains how therapeutic writing became A Broken Twig Can Sprout, why she created Resiliency Publishing House, and how her nonprofit Help Me Sprout is building tools for kids with adverse childhood experiences, including a young writer's workshop and a vision for a safe community space she calls the Haven. She also opens up about requesting FOIL open records to finally process her mother’s death and the meaning behind her upcoming book, A Piece Of Mama’s Heart.

If you’ve ever carried someone else’s pain, felt blamed for your feelings, or needed the words “it’s not your fault,” this conversation is for you. Subscribe, share this with someone who needs it, and leave a review so more listeners can find stories that help them heal.
