Are We the Villain, or Just Writing the Wrong Story?
Have you ever apologized just to end an uncomfortable conversation? Or replayed a situation so many times in your head that you've convinced yourself you're the villain in someone else's story?
This week on Kinda Preachy, we're talking about the stories we tell ourselves, the apologies we probably didn't need to make, and why sometimes keeping the peace is actually keeping us from finding it.
Between wedding planning miscommunications, unexpected apologies, financial stress, and a very unfortunate regular Coke situation, we're realizing just how often we try to control the narrative instead of having the hard conversations or trusting God with the outcome.
We also get honest about self deprecating humor, the shame we continue carrying long after we've asked for forgiveness, and what happens when we become so comfortable sharing our mistakes that we forget we're allowed to move beyond them.
But somewhere along the way, this conversation becomes about something bigger: Why is it so easy to trust God with the life changing things and so difficult to trust Him with the everyday ones?
Maybe we're not always the villain in someone else's story. Maybe we're just writing an ending God never intended.
And maybe He's asking us one simple question: "Is that what you think I said?"
