Episode 98 of Who’s Got The Ball? sees Shane and James back together to tackle another huge week of football, NFL and NBA action.

The lads begin with a massive result for Ireland’s Under-21s, who beat England for the first time — and, more importantly, fully deserved to. They discuss the performance, the significance of the win and why it should give Irish football fans real optimism.

In the Premier League, attention turns to Manchester United. Michael Carrick needs to kick-start the season, and a game against Spurs could be exactly the fixture United need. The lads also preview Liverpool v Manchester City, one of the standout games of the season so far.

Before the full NBA preview arrives in a couple of weeks, Michael provides a rundown of the biggest moves from the summer to get everyone up to date. He gives us a run through the major changes around the league and what they could mean heading into the new NBA season.

Over in the NFL, Shane and James ask whether the Patriots’ win over the Bills has saved their season or simply delayed the bigger questions. They also look at the Eagles: how serious are their problems, and have they already punted their season?

Then it’s time for the weekend previews, including Seahawks v 49ers in a huge NFC West clash and Rams v Bills on Monday Night Football.

Gan Seans returns as always, the lads have teamed up with kingofthehill.ie to provide their weekly Sunday locks in the NFL and James puts Shane’s knowledge to the test in this week’s quiz.

Plenty to debate in Episode 98!
