    Can intuition actually be trained? Years ago, while researching psychology studies for a film production company, I came across a book on remote viewing. I knew nothing about psychic abilities at that point, and what I learned blew my mind. Alan Steinfeld joins me to explain remote viewing, its use in a CIA-funded program, and what it teaches us about intuition. Host of New Realities, his long-running interview series on consciousness, and author of Making Contact, Alan learned directly from Russell Targ, one of the physicists who developed the remote viewing program at Stanford Research Institute. Alan calls the practice “the yoga of the mind.” We discuss how it works and how it trains you to discern the difference between intuitive impressions and the analytical mind. Key takeaways: Remote viewing is a protocol, not a rare gift. It can be taught, practiced, and tested. Intuition is knowing, not thinking. The impression arrives first, and the explaining comes after. Set your intention on the target, then get out of the way. The skill is in the receiving. Impressions come in pieces. Stay with colors, shapes, sizes, and textures. Share what comes through before interpreting what it means. Checking your impressions against the actual target is what builds discernment.     Recently, I woke up in a funky mood. I had a list of work projects in front of me, things I usually love, and every time I moved toward one of them I felt worse. At that moment, none of it felt aligned. Then I got a ping: go upstairs and organize your closet. It was something I had been meaning to do for a while, and the idea actually excited me. As soon as I started on it, my mood lifted, and I had a joyful, productive morning. Following that little nudge reminded me that joy isn’t a distraction from what we’re meant to do. It can be the direction. In this episode, four beautiful souls came for guidance with very different concerns, and the same message came through for all of them: listen to what feels good, and trust it. Key takeaways from this episode: When you’re emotionally stirred up, guidance is hard to hear. Being present with what you feel is what clears the signal. A fear-based choice moves you away from something. A joy-based choice moves you toward what you actually want. There’s nothing wrong with wanting stability, but if the safe option doesn’t excite you, keep asking what does. You don’t have to leap all at once. Honoring both the part of you that’s ready and the part that isn’t lets a big change happen in stages. Forcing a dream doesn’t speed it up. Let it build while you learn and align.     What if not knowing what's going to happen is part of what makes life fun? While watching my beloved Detroit Pistons in a playoff elimination game, I desperately wanted to know how it was going to end. So naturally, I started pulling oracle cards. The first told me I was too close to the situation and needed to step back. The second told me to calm down. By the third, the message was unmistakable: Stop trying to figure out what's going to happen. Be present. I kept pulling cards to find out how the game would end. The cards kept telling me to put the cards down and watch the game. In this episode, we explore why it can be so hard to sit with uncertainty, and what becomes possible when we stop trying to control how things turn out. The guides take the lesson far beyond basketball, exploring why the need to know can pull us out of the flow, and why the unknown isn't something we need to overcome. It's part of the adventure. Key takeaways from this episode: When we're preoccupied with what's going to happen, we can miss what's happening right now. Presence helps us release the need to control the outcome and return to the natural flow of life. The unknown isn't a flaw in the human experience. It's part of what makes the game exciting. Fear of disappointment can lead us to choose what feels safe or guaranteed rather than what we truly want. One disappointing outcome doesn't define the larger journey. The long game is always bigger than any single experience. When something doesn't go the way we hoped, we can feel what we feel and then ask: Where do I want to go now? You can root for your team. You can want what you want. Just don't get so caught up in how the game will end that you forget to enjoy the experience.
