  • S1E4: Petito/Laundrie Update, Arkansas Shooting & Gun Control, Deshaun Watson, Spring Equinox, Daylight Saving Time
    Mar 26 2022

Season 1, Episode 4: Petito and Laundrie Update, Arkansas Shooting & Gun Control, Deshaun Watson, Spring Equinox, Daylight Saving

Corey and Robyn begin the podcast by discussing updates on the Petito/Laundrie case. Gabby Petito's parents have filed suit against Brian Laundrie's parents feeling they have not shared all relevant information about the case with authorities.

Next, there was a chat about the recent shooting at an Arkansas Car Show community event where 26 innocent people were shot and one was killed in what police initially described as a gang incident that spilled over into the public. The discussion morphed into the need for gun control.

Next Corey brought Deshaun Watson into the mix. As you may know, Watson is an NFL quarterback phenom who is also accused of indecencies and sexual abuse by 22 different female massage therapists. All criminal charges have been dropped (!!) and now Watson is facing lawsuits from the women. He was recently traded from the Houston Texans to the Cleveland Browns for a history-making $130 million, 5-year contract.

In the final segment, Robyn introduces the spring equinox and the current bill awaiting approval by Congress and President Biden to abolish daylight saving time.

They explain the horrific crimes and tell how the family of Chelsea King was instrumental in having Chelsea's Law passed and also the benefits of the foundation they set up and ran before ending it on the 12th anniversary of Chelsea's death. Robyn encouraged the listeners to read local author Caitlyn Rother's true crime book called "Lost Girls" for more details about the case.

Corey gives an update on Kylen Schulte and Crystal Beck, the newlywed couple from Moab, Utah who was murdered in September 2021. A person of interest has been identified, however, no name or details about the person have been released by the police. Corey and Robyn finish the episode by answering an inquisitive email received about why we are no longer part of JV to the Pros. Corey explains that everything has a shelf life and their shelf life with JV to the Pros had come to an end. Corey and Robyn were planning a podcast for a while prior to the split.
